I don't know who's the genius who came up with this name....

But I approve.  Well done.

I was more interested in the fact that there's a 31st-Century version of the Higgins Boat.

What is irregular tech? Tech that isn't normally used or tech that shouldn't be on a modern battlefield.

Essentially gorilla warfare type equipment.  3132-3136, alot disarmed planets were either in rebellion/splinter groups/arming up due to sudden independence.

On top of that, it gives more varity of equipment for a poor merc unit can have to bolster their fighting force.
Many of the splinter groups were using industrialMechs such as the one in this book.

I hope TRO: Irregulars will include the record sheets like the TRO:3145 books.  I'd hate to have to wait another year for record sheets.  I'm glad CGL was able to do TRO:VAR to get the 'Mech units out with Exoskeletons in record sheet form.

The BJ-3 with all double heat sinks could not have existed that early.  So we created a BJ-3X that was a step toward the 3. It has not received a record sheet yet.

Wrong thread. ;)

I hope TRO: Irregulars will include the record sheets like the TRO:3145 books.  I'd hate to have to wait another year for record sheets.  I'm glad CGL was able to do TRO:VAR to get the 'Mech units out with Exoskeletons in record sheet form.

Yes, RS will be included. Overall, the scope will be very similar to the 3145 faction PDFs. Best view it as a halfway point between those and an XTRO in that some art will be reused.

Focus seems to be on 'Mechs, so it is more like a normal TRO but with Industrial 'Mechs rather than BattleMechs.

Very interesting in any case. Should be nice addition to Dark Age forces (yes yes, some, if not all, MODs have record sheets already; but that's not the point.).

Yes, the TRO VA units already have some of their MODs covered in the revised edition's appendix, but the variants in Irregular Tech will feature some at least surface differences.

Is this stuff coming from some of the other PDFs?  I know the Inquisitor Mk II is in TP Irian, so we get to see Mk I?

Most of the content is rooted in various bits and pieces of the established universe. Hidden behind those names are the missing MWDA game pieces, and then we have things like the Inquisitor, where the description and stats ties in the little snippets that have been dropped in past publications. Speaking of which...

I don't know who's the genius who came up with this name....

That would be the writer of TRO VA's Pompier entry, where "the 90-ton St. Florian" is mentioned. O0

It uses a Short Tom artillery cannon loaded with Thermobaric shells, using the oxygen sucking blast of a fuel air explosion to snuff out the flames. While some boringly practical people suggest that this creates more problems than it solves, they are usually overwhelmed by how incredibly awesome it is.

(note, the above is not in any way based on canon, however it would be awesome.)
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

Would it get a possible release date, like at this years GenCon perhaps?

Or sometime soon after? [notworthy]

As for the one in this book, I'm expecting the ships the SLDF used to cross the Bering Strait.

They actually had a 'amphibious' invasion in one of the DA books.  Erik was in charge of the defenders using a old fortified set up I want to say in arctic conditions, with a lot of the inlets being fjord types with small rock beaches at the feet of steep cliffs.  I think it may have been the Capellan initial wave, not sure but something kept them from being able to orbital drop.  Ships closed up, mechs were dropped over the side from ships on the shelf in limited numbers because of the ocean floor conditions.  Armor, BA and infantry were transported to those rock beaches along with IIRC medium or smaller mechs- the heavier ones walked in.  Hovertanks & infantry launched from a very few ships further out for their runs into the landing zones.  When I search it says Fortress of Lies, but its in a box somewhere and I do not have that one as PDF . . .

Anyway, we could very well see those ships pushing past the breakwaters!

Really, you guys should know better by now.  CGL loves releasing new stuff, and Randall and Ray post and tease as much as they can.  If there's a date that can be shared, it will be shared.  Begging for it does nothing.
