Fitting out your conventional fighter forces?

Try 1/350 naval aircraft, a pair of wire clippers, and a sharp knife!

From left to right, a Planetlifter, a SuperPelican, a Corsair II MSF (custom), Inseki HSF, Angel LSF, and another Corsair II.

Here's another shot giving size against minis:

(The paintjob is for a canon unit I'm working up at the moment)

These all came from two Tamiya 1/350 USN packs, but there's a lovely company called Trumpeter, who'll sell you six packs of planes (or helos) for around $10US. They're great sizes for on the map; okay, the PlanetLifter looks a little small next to the MW:DA infantry, but it's good enough!

I'll leave it to folks to guess what the feedstock was. And yes, I note the Planetlifter has lost a tailplane due to flak ... ;)

As if size ever mattered. Place a Demolisher beside a Zorya and it seems as if the clan vehicle was build for elementals as operators. If the PlanetLifter fits a hexbase, it does what it needs to do!

I've been using Trumpeter planes to represent conventionals for years. I should dust them off, it's been too long and my enemies have forgotten to fear Flankers. >:D

As for Torrents, I use die-cast B-1Bs, the kind you'd find in the toy car section of any decent toy aisle or store. A bit big, but they look beautiful, and I mounted them on taller than usual bases so they don't interfere with other minis.
