This is for a kind of 'fan project' involving trying to develop a set of coherent house rules addendums.

The problem you're solving is this

and the basic method is this:
https://www.tsb.gc.ca/eng/medias-media/blogue-blog/2015/20150312.htm

for those who don't want to struggle with links, basically, I'm looking for balanced stats for medium, heavy, or assault type Aerofighters meant to remain 'on station' at one gee for sustained periods, with dual controls to reduce the impact of pilot fatigue.  I prefer to see modifications of existing designs in canon, showing what you think can be sacrificed to implement dual cockpits AND enough fuel for sustained escort missions.

and no, don't go with smallcraft, we KNOW they can do it already.  I want to see if you guys will build a 'battletech F-14'...
"If ye love wealth better than liberty,
the tranquility of servitude
better than the animating contest of freedom,
go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or your arms.
Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.
May your chains set lightly upon you,
and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."-Samuel Adams

So a dual cockpit Slayer essentially? :P

Didn't know rules existed for dual cockpit fighters tbh

Ok, if you take my R21 variant (here) and rip out one of the ER Larges and the associated HS, you could install a second cockpit and 8 extra tons of fuel.  The fluff is still from my original R-21 variant, as  this is only a quick and dirty conversion.

Class/Model/Name:  LCF-R21D
Tech:              Inner Sphere / 3054
Vessel Type:       Aerospace Fighter
Rules:             Level 2, Custom design

    1 Maxell Medium Laser
    2 SureFire 444 Anti-Missile Systems
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
When Lockheed/CBM switched production from the older LCF-R15 to the
upgraded R16 model in 3052, a missed memo within the procurement department
resulted in a surplus stock of Maxell small lasers.  The responsible
executive, in an effort to cover the mistake, generated a story about "the
R20 upgrade, of course".  This white lie quickly gained a life of its own,
until two years later, the first R21 rolled off the production line.  With no
actual design requirements beyond "use up the remaining stock of small lasers"
and "make it look something like the R20", the design engineers were unable to
justify access to Lockheed's production run of ferro-aluminum armor.  This
actually worked in their favor, as it allowed them to fit one more small laser
into each wing.  The only truly novel feature of the R21 was the addition of a
pair of anti-missile systems in the nose, which was justified as necessary
given the resurgence in naval technology at the time.  The success of this
argument, however, bought the designers ten extra months of long hours to
implement refit kits to address shortcomings in electronic warfare
capabilities and the consequent havoc the solutions wreaked on the
notoriously troublesome communications and targeting systems.

==Capabilities:==
Like its predecessor, the R21 drops the R16's missile systems in favor of
energy weapons and increased armor.  Double heat sinks provide sufficient heat
dissipation to enable continuous firing of the forward weapon systems.  Working
from existing R20 air frames left insufficient room in the tail to mount the
R16's pulse laser once the new Edasich engine was installed, forcing retention
of the R20's original Maxell medium.  Five point defense lasers in each wing
provide protection while the R21 closes its targets, while providing the
ability to switch to offense once in close.  The increased armor protection
combines with the paired anti-missile systems to insure maximum survivability
throughout the R21's mission profile.

==Variants:==
Two refit kits are available for the R21, each replacing an anti-missile
system in the nose.  The dorsal AMS can be replaced with an active probe,
while removal of the ventral system facilitates the installation of an ECM
suite.  Lockheed/CBM refuses to comment on the sourcing for this equipment,
and charges well above the going rate for the electronics alone.  Close
examination of the kits reveals extensive removal of serial numbers and other
identifying information, though the design is consistent with known Capellan
systems, and Capellan spare parts fit perfectly.

i have a few that could probably do it with minor modification, i'll work on it later and get back to you.

edit: heres the first
As per your request here are some long range escorts for sustained time at 1g

Heavy, the HMR-HDC “Hammerhands”
Outfitted as a pure energy boat to save tonnage, and outfitted with a XXL engine, this 75-ton aerospace fighter has had its fuel, and thus range, doubled, its original armaments replaced with an Extended Range PPC with capacitor along with two large, and two medium pulse lasers. While it does run hot on alpha strikes, the variations of the cycle times allow the near constant firing of weapons.

I will throw out the F-80 Deathstroke Areospace Fighter.  (That hopefully is "legal" design)

It is a heavy modified F-77 Aerospace Fighter with a Dual Cockpit system like some mechs have in them.  The Deathstroke is designed to be an escort for Dropship and to complement ammo dependent fighters to and from the target zone.  In order to fight against enemy interceptors you need good team work, as the best way to kill one easy is to slip in behind it and open up on it, and not get hit by the ER ML covering the Aft end.

It takes a learn curve for the crew to learn to work together to make this fighter work best, but when the team is in sync this fighter can become a scary thing.

well I had to use REMLAB Web Mech Designer, but it kinda doesn't complete do Aerospace..  Why did I miss something?
