Dropships vs Internal Storage comes down to yard space vs budget.

If youve a lavish budget and limited building yards (say IS playing catch-up with clans after clan invasion) then you want to maximize effect per ship.  That means collars.

If you have sufficient yard space to absorb all the money the govt will throw you, with room left over, you build as many ships as you can, and you make them less expensive.

If you're going to use two different types of launchers, at least replace the White Shark launchers with AR/10s and get the flexibility of being able to load a mix of White Shark and additional Barracuda missiles?   Also, why not a mix of Gauss Rifles and ER PPCs so the ship will always have some kind of anti-fighter capability?

Also, if the US Navy could get away with classifying nuclear-powered cruisers as DEs in the 1970s (they were re-designated as CGNs in the 1980s), then I don't see a reason why this WarShip can't be similarly so designated.

I tend to wobble between Gauss Rifles and Heavy PPCs. I like the Gauss rifles because they hit like a brick and go to long range. PPC-Hs also hit hard, but give up the extra range band for the lack of ammo.  I may investigate ERPPCs with capacitors.

I think I will take off enough cargo space to add a drop collar, it's just too useful to not have one. I can also reduce the sm-craft bays down to 2.

I've decided to revise this one as if I'm going to call it a Brooklyn, it better have a lot of guns, in this case 10x 70pt NAC bays (three guns each) and the HS to use them all (100% heatsink coverage.)

There's 2 NAC bays in each corner, and one in each Broadside, for a total of 5x 70pt bays that can bear on each side.

Interesting mix for the anti-WarShip loadout, though as to anti-fighter defense I prefer a mix of energy and ballistic weapons for the trade-off between heat generated vs ammunition dependency.   With the relatively slow overall speed, is this DE supposed to act as a defender for the big boys or defend convoys?

I deleted that part from the OP when I edited it, it's a transport dropship escort by intent.

I could make it a 4/6 but I'd have to kick the tonnage to at least 650k, making it a Frigate or Light Cruiser.
