Build the Flagship for the Second Star League.

So if you saw my post on Combat Vehicles on a Royal Patton for Second Star League, you know about how Second Star League exists much earlier in the AU me any my friends are making and since tech in our AU is a bit different (WarShips aren't fully LosTech, they were just way too expensive an investment for the latter Succession Wars and too slow to build during wartime), I decided why not put this one out there because it isn't an SLDF without some badass battlewaggons.

So, after ComStar handed over control of Terra to the Second Star League, they also handed over the control of the preserved shipyards of the Sol System and to honor the formation of the new league and remind the other Successor States who's boss, the necant SLDFN orders, on request from the First Lord, the Construction of the first true WarShip in Generations in the Inner Sphere.

Their request was to build a single Battleship the likes of which had not been seen in centuries, a monster that would serve as the flagship of the Second League, the personal ship of the First Lord, and a monument to the return of peace and order in the Inner Sphere. The Specifications were equally ambitious.

They called for a front line Battleship massing between 1 and 2 million tons, with firepower equal or superior to a Texas or McKenna (it did not stipulate any specific type of weaponry needed but recovered stockpiles of Naval Weaponry mean they have more than enough of everything they might want short of Mass Drivers), 6 DropShip Collars to carry a full Regiment in Battalion Scale Transports or an entire escort group of Assault DropShips, and (since this is the HQ of the SLDFN and sometimes the personal vessel of the First Lord) mount as much protection as possible.

Recovered ComStar stocks mean that this thing can be built with at least mostly First Star League era components and technology.

This ship was ordered in the 3040s, but launched in 3057 due to the Clan Invasion and overruns in engineering.

The Project hasn't been given a name, but it is requesting a regal or majestic name.

I'm torn....

I don't think a 2nd SL flagship would be very large given the loss of all the Shipyards & would probably only be Battle Cruiser in size.

That said, its hard not to just go with the original SL flagship of choice and call for a McKenna-Block-II.

Minor changes needed.......

1.  Drop some Cargo space to pay for weapons/armor.
2.  Replace each NAC40 w/ a Pair of NAC30's for range & damage increase.
3.  Add in a battery of NL55's in the ForeSides ARC for some Anti-Fighter mode fire.
4.  Fill out each Arc with AMS & LPL batteries.
5.  Max out the Armor, possibly switch to Ferro Carbide.
6.  Round up the ASF Bays to a full 54 Regiment.

True, but for the size part, this thing is being built to celebrate having money, industrial capacity, and technology again with the expectation that there wouldn't be any major conflicts for a while with a restored Star League and wanting a true Flagship for their fleet of WarShips they inherited from ComStar. A bit of an ego trip is a little expected.

Flagship from Comstar would likely have the following:
Large Naval Comm-Scanner Suite
Mobile HPG

Since this vessel is supposed to command others, it should have excellent sensors and the ability to communicate with others.

I was thinking the same actually, using the "Command-McKenna" variant that the SLDF had 6? of.
