Alpha Strike Card Question
« on: 10 October 2020, 23:38:21 »
Hey All,
Just getting back into BT recently and decided to give the Alpha Strike variant a try. One thing I noticed on the pre-printed Alpha Strike cards were the small icons on the right side of the card just to the right of the Mech artwork. I've tried looking around a bit to figure out what these mean, but so far no luck. I was wondering if anyone here could help me out with what these icons represent.

Thanks.

those would be era icons. they give a general sense of when something was available. they go from top to bottom:

Age of War / Star League (2400s-2785)
Succession Wars (2786-3049)
Clan Invasion (3050-3062)
Civil War (3063-3067)
Jihad (3068-3085)
Republic / Dark Ages (3086-3150)

Continuing on icons, there are, at the bottom left, what looks to be set icons and unique card number. Is there a list of all the card sets and their icons?

As an aside, I believe the old gen con cards now have incorrect stats due to shifts in the rules so one should only order them if they have completionist tendencies

Yeah, the original Ad Hoc cards are totally incompatible with Alpha Strike: Commander's Edition.  Most later cards are OK, but you're better off comparing them with the MUL to be sure.  Most issues are with point values that have been updated but you can't be sure without double-checking.

I was wondering if there was a cur-off.  I have the original cards and they are obviously off, but I guess any given card can be eratta'd at any time post-Commander's Edition.
