AS on Hex Maps Question
« on: 13 October 2021, 13:39:51 »
For those who have/are playing AS on hex maps, has anyone played with hex movement being 1 to 1 with the inches listed on the AS cards, instead of halving it per the official conversion rules?  If so, what was it like?

I plan on running a full Tukayyid campaign soon, with enough forces on the table that each battle will be at least 4 map sheets.  I'm thinking that a 1 to 1 movement conversion will:

A) make it simpler to track
B) speed up the game, given the large play area
That moment when you realize all your favorite mechs are Capellan designs... *shrug* Long live the Chancellor!

You might want to check out some of the older postings is the sub-forum. Oddly enough, there is a group that play table-top yet have implemented the map play rules for movement and range. Pretty much the feedback is that it opens up the play area for more maneuver.

Also check out some of the game aides nckestrel has created for ease of play
