Help me allocate these two heavy/assault 'Mech formations, please! (ComStar)

Okay, so these units will be for my ComStar Level III mini unit for Tukkayid - currently going to be Level III Omicron "Veterans of the Psychic Wars", 394th Division "Manyfold Paths", 5th Army.

I have the following tanks I want to allocate to two Level IIs. What do you think are the most useful formations I can make out of these? They'll accompany other Level IIs which will be Command, Striker, Recon, and Support (Infantry & BA.) Obviously Battle, Assault, Fire (direct and indirect) are all obvious choices, but what do you think are the optimal assignments? Please feel free to discuss your choices.

The units in question:

* Four PAT-005 Pumas
* Four Fury Command Tanks (Royal),
* Two 3053 Upgrade Ontos, and
* Two Mk VI Alacorns

I'm a sucker for the Mark VI Alacorn.  Actually used them in our first round of the Tukayyid campaign against the Smoke Jaguars.  Can't sing their praises enough as snipers.

If you are wanting an Assault Level II in this mix, I think your hands are a bit tied. To meet the requirements, you have two choices you will need to use, the Ontos and Alacorns. The remaining units can fill out Battle, Fire, Fire Support, or Direct Fire requirements.

2 x Alacorn Heavy Tank Mk. VI
2 x Ontos Heavy Tank (3053 Upgrade)
2 x Puma Assault Tank PAT-005

Heavy Level II
2 x Puma Assault Tank PAT-005
4 x Fury Command Tank (Royal)

Have to third all of this.  Same lineups I would have pulled.

Our vehicle Assault Level II in the campaign was 4 Alacorns, and 2 Von Luckners as guards.  Only lost two Alacorns by the end.

I absolutely see value with those formations. The Heavy Level II that I listed is pretty good in the sense that qualifies for multiple formation types and you can easily change to what best matches the scenario you are playing. Now I'm making an assumption you are using Chaos Campaign which allows you to use SPs to change formation types as needed.

With that being said, I'd likely choose Fire over the others. I like the Sniper SPA a lot...I think it's one of the best granted SPAs (especially with slower units).

I rate Battle (and the Lucky SPA) higher than Direct Fire (and the Weapon Specialist SPA). I just feel you are more likely to be in a situation where a re-roll is the better choice over the chance of missing by 1-point to do half damage.

I also listed Fire Support as an option....on second look that was in error. The Level II listed is shy one unit to meet the IF# requirement. BUT...if it was...Fire Support would work really well in any scenario where terrain and LOS are an issue, and the Oblique
Attacker SPA is a constant modifier.

This is what I was thinking, you have 6 Gauss Boats & 6 LRM Boats.  I'd just match those up.
