From the recent v 4.1 PRE errata document:
Quote
* Ground-to-Air Combat (p. 187)
Under “Determine Target Number”, second paragraph

but disregard the target movement modifier and instead apply a –4 immobile target modifier.
Change to:
with a +0 target movement modifier and, if a spheroid DropShip, the –4 immobile modifier.
I didn't have a chance to play Alpha Strike yet, so my understanding of the ruleset is obviously limited, but shouldn't all grounded dropships (not just spheroid ones) suffer a -4 immobile target modifier? I know that grounded aerodyne dropships can taxi, and thus aren't technically immobile, but their sheer size (and slow taxing speed compared to that size) should make them very easy to hit. Treating them as immobile targets accomplishes that.

Note that in TW all grounded dropships (not just spheroid ones) are treated as though they were immobile targets (see pp. 110 and 250 TW) - just like I suggested for ASCE above.

No.  Aerodyne are only immobile if they are actually immobilized.  As you said, they can taxi.  DropShips already have a separate modifier for their large size.

Ok, I've checked my copy of Alpha Strike Companion, and it indeed looks like do DropShips qualify for LG, VLG or SLG (depending on their size), which, according to Attack Modifiers Table on p. 44 ASCE (by the way, sorry for erroneously calling it ASC before) means that they suffer -1 to-hit penalty. Though... isn't -1 a bit little for units as big as DropShips? Seems a bit weak for a unit that in TW covers seven hexes, is 5-10 levels tall, and, in case of most official DropShip models, can barely traverse its own length in a 10 second turn while taxiing. Perhaps the modifier should be something like -1 for LG, -2 for VLG and -3 or -4 for SLG?

Either way I assume that your answer is relevant only to Alpha Strike rules? Because, once again, the way I see it in TW (not only on pp. 110 and 250, but also in the Attack Modifiers Table on pp. 117 and 307) it is clear that all grounded DropShips are treated as immobile targets regardless of whether they can taxi or not. So I guess this is one of these bigger differences between the AS and "classic" rulesets?
