Good Day,

Per ASCE, p.38, "A dismounting unit has a TMM of 0, but is considered to have used ground movement and thus cannot be at a standstill that turn."  On ASCE, p.42, "A unit that jumps adds the additional +1 target movement modifier for jumping."

So, if a unit of Elementals is dismounting, would the modifier to attack them include a +1 for them having Jumping Movement?  They are "considered to have used ground movement," and they are "a unit that jumps."  The +1 for jumping is an "additional" target movement modifier so perhaps it is not covered by the "dismounting unit has a TMM of 0" language?  Presumably, they used their jump jets when dismounting, so it makes logical sense that they would benefit from doing so, versus a non-jumping unit that is dismounting.

Or would attacks against them exclude the +1 for jumping because they have "a TMM of 0," full stop?

No. Ground movement is a movement mode, as is jumping. So if something is said to be using ground movement, it is not jumping.  You only get the jumping modifier when you use the jumping movement mode.
If a unit with jumping movement dismounts from an airborne unit, then it uses the combat dropping rules which have different modifiers.  But if you're not combat dropping when you dismount, then you are not jumping and don't get the jumping modifier.

Ah, I see.  Ground Movement is a term of art.  Thank you.

Er, does that mean that Ground Movement should be capitalized in that passage?
