I do not see in ASCE, p. 46 on Charge Attacks a rule around how to calculate distance traveled.
Can, for example, a 14" moving mech that starts 1" from an opponent essentially run in circles to build up momentum and then charge?
Or is the distance between the two opposing mechs considered to be the distance between them at the start of the movement?
How does terrain affect whatever the above ruling is?
Do Death from Above attacks use the same distance traveled rules as Charge Attacks?
Thanks so much!!!

Charge and Death From Above were errated recently. They may clear up your questions.

Distance traveled is no longer considered.

I cannot express how much I LOVE this change! It always slowed down the game to calculate damage based on movement, etc. Now you can just know how much it is without having to crunch numbers. Yay!!
Point of clarification, I have looked several times at the 4.1 Errata and don't see the referenced ruling. Are those rules just collected in that thread and will be added to the next errata that comes out?
-
Exactly. Initial errata is posted to the thread.
Yearly, or whenever a new printing occurs, the errata is consolidated in to the errata PDF.

Thanks so much for the response, and explanations. I love the new ruling!!! :)
