In universe unit prices
« on: 21 September 2021, 14:23:38 »
I understand that this is a wargame and the VAST majority of people play by the BV system, and there's nothing wrong with that. However I keep finding others (as well as myself)who want to build armies, armadas and the like with in-world value cost. IE: what would it cost to make a merc company in-universe. Now I understand the problems with House currency VS C-bills VS Dark age lack of unified currency. HOWEVER the MUST be at least a ROUGH value equivalency even amongst the great houses. I AM NOT trying to take away other people's joy of the established system. But trying to find in world cost and value is increasingly spotty. Drawing from real world examples a Naval carrier group costs 27.3 billion dollars (not counting upkeep and maintenance). See, if you were trying to buy rough equivalent value in war machines that would be possible become of your knowledge of in world cost. I have currently printed a literal army of figurines and I would like to assign value in world. How much would a merc company or group of merc companies need to save to buy an army of mixed units a hand full of jumpships and dropships and have their own little exodus and create a pocket empire in the deep, deep periphery? These are questions that can be answered with in-world value costs. Even if they are along the lines of "1-3 million", that gives me something to work with. BV doesn't help with that at all. Any time I try to find in universe value I am always shunted to a website that may or may not have it, but they have BV. I have BV coming out my ears. All I am saying is a concideration for in universe value would go a VERY long way.

Thank you for your time.

In-universe costs, when so much is in flux between numerous factions and lists that go into individual components, all along the course of centuries of game-time, is not greatly supported, and there isn’t any plan for that to change.

If there’s a question besides that, would you please mind condensing it and asking it again? Thanks.
If you appreciate how I’m doing, send me a tip:
