per the discussion initiated by mutantsix (
http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=52207.0), a clarification is needed on a near-thirty year old design.
TRO: 3039 states that
The BJ-1DB replaces the autocannon with large lasers and adds six extra heat sinks. This necessitated the removal of the arm-mounted medium lasers and one ton of armor.
Yet by all precedent, it was the
torso-mounted medium lasers that were removed in the BJ-1DB. RS:3039u shows an identical record sheet to what was published in the PDF
Classic Battletech Record Sheets: 3039 (ca. 2007-08, with Heavy Metal Pro sheets), and even as far back as
BattleTech Record Sheets Volume Two: Medium 'Mechs (ca. 1990).
So which source is in error? Should TRO: 3039 be errata'd to say that the torso-mounted medium lasers were removed, or should the record sheet in RS: 3039u be amended by moving the medium laser from each arm to the respective torso?
Thanks
