Designed by Dominion scientists as a jack-of-all-trades Assault Class Battlearmor for use by their Second-Line and Garrison Clusters, the Heat Haze's chassis was built to Inner Sphere standards, eschewing the use of Harjel, but was equipped with a generous layer of Fire-Resistant Armor combined with a Camo Sytem so that it can not only walk through fire relatively unscathed thanks to its Fire Resistant Armor, but can also survive a direct hit by a Heavy Large Laser or shrug off anything but a direct hit by most artillery barrages thanks to its thick hide, and be very hard to get a fix on if moving at slow speeds thanks to its Camo System. The fact that the Camo System requires the Heat Haze to move slowly to be effective lessened the downside of its inherent mobility issues as a result of its designers' decision to mount almost every weapon onto Detachable Weapon Packs in order to save space and weight, allowing them to shoehorn in two AP Gauss Rifles and a BA LB-X Autocannon, leaving enough room to install a Standard Turret Mount with the capacity to hold an SRM-1 Launcher loaded with four shots of Inferno Missiles and a Light TAG.
