Mobile Infantry Battle Armor.

After the conclusion of the Clan Invasion and the Great Refusal, a Successor State's Marine Corps puts out an industrial request for a new suit of Battle Armor to fill a very specific but very important niche. This Marine Corps in addition to providing ship board security and performing boarding actions, also has the task of securing planetary landing zones during Planetary Assaults.

As such, they were the first branch of this Successor State's Military to pounce on Battle Armor as a concept as it gave their relatively light forces the ability to punch far above their weight and make up for their branch's lack of heavy Combat Vehicles and Mechs with BA Swarm Attacks. However they haven't been able to find a good suit for this purpose.

Therefore, they put out the request for a suit matching their needs to be developed.

The requirements for what has been rather tongue-in-cheekly named "Mobile Infantry Armor" are as follows.
1. The armor needs to be less than 1.5 tons to be deploy-able with the Marine Corp's existing Infantry Drop Pods (custom tech for the AU).
2. The armor needs to be either jump capable or have VTOL functionality to extend the range of the Marine Infantry.
3. It must be versatile with equal hard and soft attack capabilities.
4. It must mount similar armor to other BA of similar weight class.

Off the top of my head, it sounds like a PA(L) with 3 Jump MP, Max Armor (2 points of Improved Stealth) and a LMG meets all those criteria.

Armored Gloves allow the unit to carry any Infantry Weapon up to 1E crew, so why not a Heavy Grenade Launcher in addition to that LMG?  >:D

You can drop the MES for 2 points of armor and a Battleclaw
That's just me, you could also leave out the BC if you want 15kg MES.

The third point of jump is worth more than the second point of ground MP...

alright so i went back and tried to make it a 1/3 and the closest i could come was a 1/1/3 when i could get a 2/2/3 with a slight bit more armor

why that movement profile you ask, because i'm using a jump booster to get the other point of jump distance. Heavy BA is aparently limited to two hexes of jump otherwise

No, the requirement is for 1.5 tons or less.

Part of me wonders why either Elemental or Inner Sphere Standard wouldn't fit that profile well enough.  Sure, Stealthing them would make them far better, but for general use, it's hard to beat them in general work, though there are better options for specific jobs.
