Beyond the fact it's based on something outside of Battletech, I went with the idea that the usage of an Inner Sphere internal structure was less deliberate min/maxing (even though, well, it is), and more from a lore perspective. All that added gear takes up a lot of interior space that weighs down a Battle Armor. Opening it up made it more flexible and easier to not only move, but move in. In the former case, that plus the mechanical jump boosters, make it practically fly (low) over the ground. In the latter case, there's now room inside for a series of expandable air-bladders and it can pull in the arms/legs, much like an older Void BA, which would allow virtually any of the different genetic Warrior breeds, even Aerospace pilots, to use one. Or even Inner Sphere bondsmen/freeborn members of a Clan. And in fact, that Aerospace pilots would end up flocking to the design. Of course, since its supposed to be a Sea Fox design, the ability for anyone to wear & use it, means anyone can buy it.

The reason I consider it an 'anti-BA' Battle Armor is that it can generally dictate the range due to it's Ground Move of 4, so you get to decide when you finally move into the average 'long range' for BAs. And then hit with both the APGauss and the oneshot SRM4. Even if your rolls are horrifically bad (but not crit failure roll bad), you're very likely to kill off three opposing Medium BAs, two Heavy BAs, or at least one Assault BA. Pretty much every time you fire off everything like that. And then can keep smacking your targets with the APGauss all the way in the rest of the way, or just hang back at max range for it, since you can spam it indefinitely while your opponents probably have to use limited ammo missiles to shoot back. If you do decide to go in, you're still going to be able to start hitting for either 1,3, or 4 damage at range 6 (LMG+APGauss) which is still where most of the lighter BAs are going to have issues hitting back hard. And once you are up in their faces, you have a Vibro-claw & basic manipulator, when most others just have a normal Battle Claw.

And yes, it very much is based on a design that isn't from Battletech.

A namewise question; since it is named 'oracle', isn't it supposed to be have at least some sensory devices? It also helps to perform its supposed role - to hunt down the enemy battle armor ambushers. I know it requires significant tonnage for a medium, but a 45kg Improved Sensors is not a bad deal either.

While normally I'd agree with you, the thing with it's name is a clue to something else.

Although dropping the SRM4(OS) to a SRM3(OS) and the LMG to a Needler, should allow you to stick it in the body and have 5kg to spare. Drops from a potential 11dmg alpha, to a 9dmg alpha, if everything hits. Still though, that's potentially 4 Medium BAs wiped instantly, although dice say its more like 2 wiped out and a 3rd really reconsidering their tactical situation.
