An idea for a Jihad-era, close assault Goliath. Basically the idea is to get close to the enemy and ruthlessly kick them until they stop moving. Also, keep shooting them, but mainly so you can kick harder.
To help with the getting close part, it has TSM and a Supercharger, which can give it a burst speed of 97 kph, quite respectable for an Assault 'Mech. The hardened armor also helps with the getting close part, though, ironically, it slows the 'Mech down. However, the advantage is it can take more punishment than an Atlas, so it will probably survive to get in kicking range. But if you do get an armor breach, keep your finger on the eject button. The insides are made of cardboard.
Weaponry is okay and inspired by the original Goliath. A Snub-Nose PPC and two ER Medium Lasers in a turret, with two forward firing MML-9s and a small laser in the head. This gives easy enough heat management for the TSM. Ironically though, you want to avoid running to activate the TSM, and once it does activate, avoid standing still.
The TSM-powered kicks are what we're aiming for here though, just devastating.
