Design Challenge: Ultimate Batchall Omni-Mech

Hello. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with their expertise in mech design.

We all know that situation when a Clan invasion force sends you a message asking for a Batchall, and what forces you wish to bid. And what is one to do besides face them in combat, both sides have losses and everyone loses. But if one were to have an Omni-Mech variant, that was specifically designed to do as much damage as possible, and put a mech out of the fight as fast as possible, one would no longer have to worry when a Clan invasion force asks for a Batchall, because you can bid them down to a duel between two mechs.

Here are the requirements:
     1. All equipment must be available prior to 3131.
     2. Mixed tech is allowed, you may take from both as you wish. And tech level is Experimental.
     3. Heat neutrality is not required.
     4. Ideally above 15.5 tons of armour
     5. Mech should be designed for close fighting (generally with 15 hexes, and on open terrain).
     6. Mech should be designed for 1v1 engagements only.
     7. Laser Reflective armour is encouraged, though not required.

Omni-Mech Technical Specifications:
     1. 90 tons.
     2. 4/6.
     3. Clan XL Engine, Inner Sphere standard Gyro
     4. Must incorporate an Inner Sphere TAG unit into the Left Torso as a fixed mount.
     5. Must have one ton of weight remaining at the end of the design, as well as the critical slot in the head free.

That's all. Lets see those Batchall winners.

Ideally yes, but if you have a great design, I wont pass up seeing it.

It is... yes, it only consider the single combat between mechs. It is really an one trick pony; to freeze the enemy mech then kick it to death. Its only tactics is shoot the plasma cannons over and over while keep advance, and if the enemy is close it shoots the Centurion to shutdown, then just keep shoot the Centurions to keep it freeze and beat it to death.

A close attack option, the model B adds supercharger to run farther, face to face the enemy directly and crush it by its TSM augmented talons. It can shoot either arrays of heavy medium lasers or engage the enemy by LPLs if the enemy is too far.

Finally, the model F is also a weird one that engage the enemy by LPLs and if the enemy close the gap it uses its talons. It also has some jump jets as well.

edit: it wasn't on the sheet but cockpits and gyro are armored by default. These are not pod mounted since you cannot pod mount armored component to the fixed component(basic components such as engine and cockpit are also considered as fixed).

Also MegaMekLab does not count the armored Pod items' additional weight for armored component by its pod space so some variants has less than 37 tons of pod space. It seems that make the pod itself to be armored is totally legal.

I've got to ask, for curiosity's sake, why those restrictions? Especially requiring an IS reg gyro since a Clan one isn't any different.

Ok, here's my go at it.
Volley fire either 2 TSEMPs (looking for the better shut down roll for two), 1 LPL + 1 ER Med OR 1 TSEMP, 2 LPL + 1 ER Med. Once you're close enough, you can substitute 2 ER Med for each LPL.

Once you get a shutdown, the next turn switch to all lasers.

I've got to ask, for curiosity's sake, why those restrictions? Especially requiring an IS reg gyro since a Clan one isn't any different.

The omni-mech that this design is going to be filling, is going to be a subvariant of an existing Omni-mech. So to reduce inconsistencies its just easier to set those as restrictions.

Laser Reflec is not advisable on a design this big (and consequentially slow).  It can’t avoid physical attacks the way a lighter, faster, more mobile mech can.  And physical attacks are bad news for mechs with Laser Reflec.  This is even more true given the design spec to optimize for close-range/15-hex combat.  If you want to specify a specialty armor, use ferro-lamellar or ballistic-reinforced, instead.

Unless you’re planning to cheat, TAG makes no sense on a design that is intended to fight alone.

Neither does leaving a ton unused.  Put it into armor, if nothing else.

The tag is a fixed mount an already existing omnimech design, and the extra ton is to put an armoured cowl in. I was unsure if many people build with it, or know what it is so i just left it as extra space.

Also can melee attack an option for this?

And how to explain the fixed TAG when you are bring it to the single combat?

I am aware of the difference. I use "tonner" as an off hand way of referring to a mech's tonnage
