GTR-1B Great Turtle BunkerMech

Inspired by this Reddit writing prompt.  Working through a short story in my head.

Great Turtle GTR-1B

Maximum Speed: 43.2 kph
Jump Jets: HildCo Model 13
     Jump Capacity: 90 meters

Armament:
     1 Light PPC
     1 Medium Laser
     1 Laser AMS
     1 Flamer
Manufacturer: Vining Engineering and Salvage Team
     Primary Factory: Solaris VII
Communication System: Hartford JEA-1
Targeting & Tracking System: O/P FiberFeed 201

Cost: 13,293,000 C-bills

Overview
Designed as an experiment in MechWarrior safety, the Great Turtle used a variety of advanced and experimental technologies to create a 'Mech that maximized the protection available to its MechWarrior.  While the original version, the GTR-1, was aimed at the Solaris arenas, one enterprising engineer envisioned a variation designed for more a more unusual role: exploration in harsh environments.

Capabilities
The GTR-1B prototype of the Great Turtle was refitted with a MechWarrior Aquatic Survival System, living space akin to the life support and quarters aboard a small craft or DropShip, including a small hydroponics area.  Two additional tons of cargo space were also provided, for perishables that the life support recycling could not account for.

In the event the MechWarrior was unable to continue piloting the 'Mech themselves, VEST used recovered robotics technology to allow the GTR-1B to operate independently, as well as additional paramedic equipment to treat its MechWarrior in such an emergency.  To enhance outside visibility, a recon camera was installed in the Great Turtle's head, next to a flamer, meant for brush clearing and antipersonnel work, and a laser anti-missile system designed to protect the 'Mech beyond what its 40.5 tons of hardened armor could provide.

What the GTR-1B Great Turtle does not have in abundance, however, is firepower.  Only a single light particle canon, flamer for protection against infantry, and medium-grade laser protect the BattleMech, providing the firepower of a 'Mech a fifth its size.

Deployment
Unfortunately, VEST engineers only had time to complete one GTR-1B before the Word of Blake invaded Solaris VII, and began the downward spiral that nearly destroyed the company completely.

The head engineer for the GTR-1B was killed early in the invasion, in a Blakist airstrike on one their testing facilities, but ensured his young child survived by locking him in the prototype and activating it.  The 'Mech's robotic control system, named A'Tuin, followed its orders, keeping the child alive over the next three and a half years of the Blakist occupation of Solaris VII, before the pair were finally reunited with the child's mother.

History
Designated the GTR-1B (for "Bunker"), Vining Engineering and Salvage Team envisioned this version of the Great Turtle as being meant to operate in environments that were more hostile in the physical sense, rather than in terms of combat activity.  Offensive capabilities would take even more of a backseat in this version of the Great Turtle than in the original prototype, and measures would be taken to protect the pilot in the event they were incapacitated.

I feel like it needs UMU's instead of JJ's & a quintet of ERMLs just so everything has the same range.

And underwater it won't even overheat :)

Is this a giant Urbanmech turned into an RV?

Heh... I could see it with both jump jets AND UMUs...

Is that even allowed under the rules?  If so, where would you recommend getting the weight from?

Hmm...could you do UMUs with mechanical jump boosters otherwise?

I'm pretty sure the rules won't stop you (you just can't use them at the same time)... tonnage is trickier.  The LPPC is one obvious source to me, but that's only half the requirement for three.

Is there anything saying I have to have three on there? It could just be sluggish underwater.

Certainly not... but you'll want at least two, so one more ton from somewhere...

Rules state that you cannot mount UMUs and JJs at the same time.  Sorry.  It would be fun though!
If at first you don't succeed, make it worth the repairman's time!

Ah, I see you're right... the construction note is on page 292, while the description is on page 295.  Too easily missed...

The good news is Mechanical Jump Boosters are allowed, as Gio was thinking...

Just revisited this and, what a surprise, I could make UMUs and mechanical jump boosters all fit.  I did have to switch to endo-composite internals instead of endo-steel, drop some extra heat sinks, and then trim 3 points of armor to do it, though:
