This is an abomination that "came together" a while back as I was looking into how ridiculous melee combat could potentially get.  It's actually ridiculously effective but who, in-universe, would spend 120m on a 'mech that requires salvage from multiple different sources and can only function at point-blank range?  Combine with the Melee Master and Jumping Jack (via the cockpit) pilot abilities and 7/0 skill for maximum rage-quit.  Never try to bring this to a friendly game.  Ever.

This would be perfect to send up against a slower opponent with Plasma weapons, Flamers, and/or Infernos.  They try to shut down this Panda via overheating, instead it just gets faster.  Good spot with the 4-ton Interface cockpit, as it saved you 3 tons (instead of mounting a 4-ton Gyro and a 3-ton regular Cockpit).  The Talons are a great addition due to their 50% damage boost, though IIRC they have to be placed one in each leg (a minor nitpick).

Bonus points if this person's Lancemates have to mute the comms to avoid hearing the pilot's sound effects while fighting other Mechs

They are in each leg.  I don't know why the SSW export lists them as just being in the LL.

Well, you start the game with all heat sinks turned off and jump every turn.  Jumping with all sinks turned off generates 3 heat per turn **.  Three turns later you turn on 3 heat sinks and continue jumping to maintain that +9 heat sweet spot.

**Six improved jump jets with a XXL engine will generate 6 heat no matter the distance you jump.  The partial wing will always nix 3 of that since it can not be "turned off"...unless damaged anyway.

It's supposed to serve as a replacement for scarce aerofighters and uses a common firestarter engine to save weight for jump jets and fuel to allow for limited spaceborn maneuverability. Legends say the Lyrans once deployed several of these into orbit around Tamar... and it actually worked. We don't know how that could have possibly happened, though our best guess is that the Kurita attackers were so confused by seeing perfectly good heavy battlemechs out there floating that they just had to get a closer look, allowing the Lyran pilots to mount a sneak attack once they wandered into range.

Despite that possibly apocryphal success, the program was quickly shelved by the LCAF and all records of it were scrubbed. All that remains are second hand accounts.

(And yes, it's based on an actual thing that was in the earliest version of TRO 3025. Everybody remembers the PPC locust, nobody remembers the Orbital Defense Warhammer)

I do want to point out: their are threads upon threads of all varieties of UrbanMech variants (including Aerospace, LAM’s, BA (?), and Assault Mechs) And the same for the Piranha as well. A Long Tom is nothing new: still freaking awesome/annoying.

Now let me get back to deploying the UrbanMech SLDF Divisions ;)

A Thunderbolt armed solely with Thunderbolt missiles of various types.

The medium lasers are replaced with a trio of T-bolt 5s, the missile launcher is a T-bolt 15, and the right arm has a T-botl 10. 12 shots per launcher, stored in right torso with CASE II. XL engine and gyro were used.

I don't think this is actually that bad, but definitively falls into "probably shouldn't do this".

I'd say close combat is a bigger worry due to T-bolts minimum range. There are very few units with twin AMS, so against most at most one missile can get blocked.

Swap them for clan lbx or even IS and you free up 5/3 tons after you address the two tons of ammo to allow swapping. And it makes it not a terrible idea.

But it looks borderline usable. Which is nice.

I figured as much. Plus doing clan LBX makes it usable once you deal with the extra tonnage, Rather than something that shouldn’t exist like anything with an HVAC
