In one of my AUs the Smoke Jaguars kept being at the forefront in battlemech design. After all, in canon they designed such terrors as the Mad Dog, Ebon Jaguar, Warhawk, and Iron Cheetah. Seeing how popular the Kingfisher is in the Smoke Jaguar Touman, I thought they might consider to upgrade it with an XL engine and a reinforced structure. Of course in this AU the reinforced structure would be introduced to the Clans well before its canon date. That said, I fluffed this as a 3040s design. On the outside it looks just like a Kingfisher. I gave it different pod configurations, and a targeting computer for each configuration like the Warhawk. It otherwise has 30 tons of pod space, six more tons than the original Kingfisher. This design strategy was definitely inspired by the ilClan-era Mastodon
