Relevant to the discussion on the other thread, I made a "Mammoth E" configuration which uses a bit of pod-mounted IS tech.
  • The Small Shield makes it so only AC/20 and Heavy Gauss can score a head kill.  The weapons loadout is optimized so that active used of the shield (which protects the head) does not interfere with weapons fire.
  • I also added in a C3 slave since this is a long endurance brawler mech.
Other than that, the weapons loadout is pure energy (which seems to be missing from the official ones) and synergizes with long endurance.  It also takes advantage of an Angel ECM which combos with a LAMS to turn missile barrages into duds and effectively produces something like a boosted C3 via ECCM when the fighting gets close.  Although it's not clan-like, I also added in TAG which seems handy on a long endurance brawler.  You could easily swap TAG or C3 for an ERML and/or an active probe, depending on taste.

The energy weapons are targeting computer + clan pulse lasers, so if anyone wants to cry cheese, feel free.  It's not the heaviest pulse loadout, but it's respectable at range and close up.  If you choose to use called shot high (per TO page 78) with a -2-1+3=0 penalty, you roll on the shot from above table with hits with any 2 hits to the head killing a typical mech.  At long range there is no problem with heat buildup, but at short range some care is necessary, and you may even want to shut off the LAMS for predictability.

The small shield can absorb 3 points of damage 11 times, so while active a single hit to the head needs to do 3(shield)+9(armor)+6(reinforced internal structure)=18 damage for a head kill.  Furthermore, 2 10-point hits do not automatically work since 3(shield)+7(armor) and 3(shield)+2(armor)+5(reinforced internal structure) leave one point of internal structure.

There's a unique weakness to the design in that all of the weapons are in one arm.  If that arm is lost, the mech is pretty neutered.  Preferentially targeting the arm could make sense although it's not easy.  The baseline odds of hitting the right arm are 13.9%.  Called shot (right side) with a +3 penalty or attacking from the right side increases this to 19.4%.  Called Shot (high) with a +3 penalty from the right side can up the odds to 33.3%.  Aimed Shot (right arm) requires a targeting computer, non-pulse/rapid-fire weapons,  and a +3 penalty to hit 52% of the time or 55% from the right side.  It takes 64 damage to eliminate the arm.

Dancouga, as pilot Ryo "Big Moth" Shiba affectionately calls it, is a Mastodon configured for aerial raiding.  Inspired by old Kuritan videos, the mech was even outfitted with cosmetic armor parts, including a humanoid head, often confusing opponents on the field who mistake it for some new testbed design.

The additional mobility of the improved jump jets and partial wing usually end up stunning enemies, as Ryo tends to try and blindside opponents by leaping towards them, from the direction of the local sun.

Because we need more Hatchet equipped Omni's, not the best load out on not the best chassis for one but, someone had too, the Hatchet is mostly a don't stand next to me weapon

I just wish they used Ferro-Lam armor instead of Ferro-fibrous. If you drop the Streak-20’s to 15’s, you have the mass. I think the other config can be (mostly) done as well.
