Ongoing Dublin BattleTech meetups

Hi All,

With the various BattleTech box sets selling out in Dublin repeatedly and it not just going to my group of friends, we've decided to put on a meetup towards the end of the month with the intention of getting players in the greater Dublin area together, maybe on a semi-regular basis, and to see if people would be interested in, say tournaments and other organised play at conventions.

So, the first meetup is going to be on the 21st of April at 7PM, in the Clonsilla Inn, Weaver's Row, Clonsilla.  We're asking people who want to play games at the meetup to bring 7500 BV using only 'mechs and technology from the BattleMech Manual, and there'll be some pickup forces and maps available on the day as well.

I have changed the thread title as we're going to try and make this a regular event.  The second meetup is coming up soon, on the 12th of May.  This event will also be in the Clonsilla Inn, kicking off at 7PM.

The weekend after that, on the 22nd and 23rd of May we're going to be at Leprecon in Trinity College Dublin's Goldsmith Hall, running some BattleTech grand melees on Saturday (possibly including the Arcade Ops powerups for hilarity), and an Alpha Strike participation game on Sunday.

Second meet up went well.
We had some more new faces to our little group.

And Lorcan ran a refresher game for a returning player. Before getting in some Alpha Strike action.

I got to play against an old friend I hadn't rolled dice in the same room as since before the "End of the world!"
And that was nice.

A good night and I'm looking forward to the next one.

The next game night is on the 9th of June.
The Irish Gaming Association present a chance to meet up with fellow Battletech players for some in person games.
Bring 7500 BV of equipment in the BattleMech Manual.
There will be spare forces on site if required.
If you do not want to play. You can still come and talk about the universe.
There will be Demo games for newcomers to the game.
