A C3 Karnov for a company

I realized that there are only five, five canon designs of any unit type that are equipped to act as a C3 company master unit and have a cruise/walk MP of at least 4.  I thought that a Karnov would be a good C3 master platform for a company.

I like it but in the age of AMS I'd swap the machine guns for two AMS and a ton of Ammo

The machine guns would be useful on the ground loading infantry but if somethings got close enough for MG fire the battle is lost

And AMS can be used as anti-infantry weapons in a pinch...

Thanks for the feedback!  I think I got it now   I also dropped the cruise MP by 1 and added an ECM Suite.

Honestly I don't think those AMS's are going to do you much good.    This thing is going to stay in the back and likely hidden.   Things that can chase it down likely will not be missle dependent.

I tried it using a Light fusion engine, 8/12 move, angel ecm, c3 master, 4 AMS's and 2 chin turret mounted ER mediums...  Still had 3 tons of armor.
It's BV is more (585) but its C-bill cost drops to 7.14 mil.

If you went with any kind of fusion engine you'll have a lot more mass to work with.  I was trying to keep this Karnov from going fusion.  I did this without caring about C-Bill cost since they're way out of wack in BattleTech anyway.  I care more about BV instead

I designed a similar Karnov but I didn't bother going w/ the Double Company set up, just use 2 of them.

I really only designed it to lead Recon/Striker platoons anyway.

That said, ANY kind of fast C3M is very rare in canon.

It was completely unseen for the first decade or so till a Bishimon variant came out.

I used Custom Karnov & Firestarter-O variants for that role.

Basic SFE isn't much more expensive than Fuel Cell really.
Meanwhile you never have to refuel, so win for logistics there.

That said its less tonnage to work with so you might have to use the single C3M model idea I mentioned.
But, fluff bonus, you could use the Karnov-BA model that exists in canon w/ SFE as the "base chassis" and have it be a variant from there.

The 8 tons of BA space could be a C3Master & 3 tons for armor &/or Upgrading an ERML to LPPC?
