Yeah, you heard me, I'm trying to think of a design challenge that is actually challenging, that actually presents dilemmas to this pool of excellent battletech designers who know all the tricks and crunches.
What it needs to do:
Inflict a PSR with great reliability out to a range of 15 hexes.
Can't be energy-based for the primary weapon.
this means it needs to inflict at least one concentrated 20 point hit.
Must last at least 20 rounds (if it hasn't been killed)
Minimum ground speed of 6/9
Can't be hover.
Must have decent terrain handling.
Must be able to weather return fire for at least 2 rounds.
Red paint is acceptable.
