Okay, I got a wild hair up my 4th point of contact a few weeks ago, and expanded on it tonight.
It's
here.
Now, while in my most common versions of this fanfiction subset, I don't make major changes to the setting or the canon (or violations of history, decency, etc...)
This one's different.
The rules are outlined in the post linked, sort of.
for those of you of weak constitution or refined tastes, it's simple:
I need a common chassis that can be built using 3025 tech, in a mass production style, that can be configured thusly:
1 Main battle tank
1 Infantry Fighting Vehicle
1 Logistics Support platform
1 Combat Engineering Vehicle
1 Field Artillery vehicle
1 MASH unit.
Needs to be: using the same running gear, across all platforms, this means the same engine type (Fusion) and the same engine rating, on a chassis of 50 tons or less. (So it's not a Rommel-Pat derivative, you can relax guys)
the MBT may NOT be the same as the IFV. That means, if you enter a goblin derivative, then I need either another 45 ton track to serve as a dedicated IFV, or another 45 ton track to serve as a dedicated MBT.
Common parts between them are encouraged, but not for the main gun.
"Field Artillery" means Thumper/Sniper/Long Tom. accept no substitutes for one of those three, only one tube per track.
Oh yeah, "Track". This family of vehicles needs to have the broadest range of terrains available. You can pick up bonus points by adding a non-tracked vehicle that uses the same engine, but it needs to have a definite purpose and advantage and work well with the rest.
For additional fun, we may also look to finding (and referencing) a common L1/3025 era 'mech that uses the same engine and components that are found on the vehicles.
Yes, this is another "Let's standardize the hell out of it" but I want some role-diversity.
