Many of the maps I've made recently have large amounts of water hexes. These are usually treated as an obstacle to go around, and that's that. How about taking advantage of that terrain for some Bluewater brawls?

The Boss Coastal Support is a upsized, modernized Monitor. As the name suggests, the purpose is to provide close support along the waterfront. A secondary function is as a company level command unit ( Quirks, hint hint) during amphibious actions. Heavy ferro-fibrous armor plating and an armored motive system makes the Boss a very tough nut to crack.

Interesting design!  I think having variant with the Long Tom Cannon would be interesting on this ship as well.

That's what this carries in the turret  ;)

*edit*
A variant with an artillery piece would be interesting. Problem is, it would have to be a Sniper artillery, or mount an XL engine to cover the extra weight of a Long Tom artillery  :-\

Speedy and boomy. I like it. The fact that you managed to fit an Armoured Motive System also pleases me.

I second the notion of a full on Artillery piece.

Sniper/Thumper, I am fine w/ either but I love the idea of some off shore artillery bombardment.

although the idea of an LTC on say a 50ton hover is very nice

I get image of a hovercraft tank being propelled in the opposite direction once the LTC is fired for some reason.

I agrre that there needs to be a true artillery model. swapping the LTC for a Sniper allows me to move the artillery piece out of the turret. Swapping the MML-9s and a hlf-ton of armor   (  :'( ) for three MML-7s and an extra ton of ammo can move to the turret for a better field of fire. In all, full artillery and more flexible support

Why not heavier?  Combat Vehicles rated as Naval vehicles (not support) can go up to like 300 tons.  There Tactical Operation option for Advanced vehicles for Naval (Displacement & Submarine): 301-555 tons. (Super-Heavy Combat Vehicles)

Actually, I was trying to keep it as small as possible. Less than 100 tons left me with less armor, and hydrofoils are limited to 100 tons max  :-\

You know... if you drop the Armored Motive System, a genuine Long Tom fits just fine...  ^-^

That could be useful on some of my coastal maps ... or the ones with big rivers, too ...
"That's Lieutenant Faceplant to you, Corporal!"

Things that I have learnt through clicking too fast on 'Move Done' on MegaMek: Double-check the CF of the building before jumping onto it, check artillery arrival times before standing in the neighbouring hex, and don't run across your own minefield.

"Hmm, I wonder if I can turn this into a MM map."
