Sherman Main Battle Tank and Galleon IFV

Overview

Heavy tank built on the ubiquitous LRM/SRM carrier chassis and engine, with heavier armor and turreted weapons. Cheap to buy and easy to maintain, it became the tank of choice for many second line units dedicated to defensive and garrison duties, eventually referred as a "poor-man Manticore".

The original specification asked for a combination of long and short range missiles and a reliable Autocannon class 10. Ammo storage is limited as it is meant to short engagements but one Medium Laser was added as a secondary weapon.

History

It was adopted by House Marik circa 2950 and field alongside the many available Galleon Light Tanks which share the same engine, creating standard armored units

Overview
Modernized Galleon variant for armed recon and light strike. The small lasers were removed allowing space of a foot infantry squad. One machine gun was added to the turret as an anti-infantry weapon. Armor was increased to the same level of the Heavy APC at front, rear and sides.

To save 0.5ton, 1 LRM and the 2 SRM need to be removed from the turret.

12 (AC) + 1 (ML) + 2 (LRM) + 1 (SRM) = 16 tons... with rounding per the non-Fractional Accounting rules, that's a 2-ton turret.  Drop 1 ton of the weapons, and it's only a 1.5 ton turret...

each LRM5 weights 2 tons and this variant has 2 SRM2s (one ton each). In total it has 19 tons of weapons. Actually, you can drop one ton of AC/10 ammo and add a MG with 100 rounds in the turret
