Requirement:

Weight: no less than 65 tons

Tech Base: Any

Special Restriction:  May not mount more than 3 total weapons.  not three TYPES of weapon, Three Weapons, total. (*this does not include systems such as AMS)

Focus: Tripod of Tank design, Movement/armor/firepower. 

Ancillary gear: any legal gear that can be mounted within Standard to Experimental rulesets.

Objective: do the best you can within the restrictions to produce a fairly to highly mobile tank with at least one good main gun and two secondary weapons without going below 65 tons, and without adding addtional weapons.  Emphasis should be shoot/move/communicate mobile doctrine and designs that can climb hills and shoot without penalty to the front of the line.

Secondary Objective: Get creative.  There are a raft of existing Canon tanks out there that mount more guns in the same weight range, and follow the basic paradigm, your design should have unusual features and be able to fill unusual roles.

How about a Patton II with a slight uptick in armor, CASE, and a heavy PPC for the main gun. Anti-personnel is handled by the MG in front, and the LRM-5 is now a more versatile MML-5.

Not cheap by any means but the Nachtflügel WiGE is powered by the same XL fusion engine found on the Enforcer giving a logistical discount to the units cost.

Armed with a pair of Large Lasers and a LRM-10 the Nachtflügel was developed to support mech forces by disrupting enemy formations and as a spoiler against flanking maneuvers by faster support units.

The Nachtflügel carries a battle armor squad or a jump infantry platoon to act as independent reconnaissance forces or in rare cases as headhunter units.

What about the glorious infantry support tank .... although i rather call it infantry assault tank against fortifications:
armed with Sturmmoerser (LT Cannon) and extended range flamethrower (SRM2 with inferno) and a machine gun - its able to get 2 squads of infantry through the breach (it created)

Firestrike. Aka "how the heck could the DCMS afford that in the middle of the Jihad?!?". Well, it turns out one of the outlying planets had gotten a factory for producing top-of-the-line engines for new mechs, and then the mech factory went mushroom cloud. So the CEO contacted a friend of his in a tank factory on a nearby world, who in turn happened to know an executive on a third world within one jump that ran a factory producing fancy new weapons. So using the four jumpships that had gotten "lost" in the general chaos a new supply chain was created and new tanks started rolling out to crush and burn the enemies of the Dragon.

The Courser was a Capellan response to the Blakist Zhukov, but made considerably more dangerous with its dual Rotary AC/5, its increased speed and agility, and its ability to co-ordinate with others in its lance. Ten tons of Laser-Reflective armour gave it a hard defence against the Davion-derived tank's lasers. Because this was a Capellan design, a token anti-infantry vehicle flamer was added. In an uncharacteristic measure of concern for the crew, CASE was added.

There is no relation to the 2nd Liao Guards.

But this is my preferred tank by Third Succession War age: 65ton, two solid AC/10s and 30 shots, 9.5ton of armor, equipped with ICE for low cost. Zhukov costs 50% for very little in extra firepower

Overview
 The Sultan is a low-cost heavy tank with excellent firepower and good armor protection. Compared to other heavy tanks like the Patton or the Manticore, it costs about one-half for a similar or better firepower, equivalent defense and slightly inferior speed and mobility.

Capabilities
 Instead of a variety of multi-range weapons, the Sultan is armed only with two Autocannons class 10. They provide heavy firepower with long range and allow accurate shooting from beyond the short range of SRMs and other light weapons. The option for an ICE conventional engine sacrificed its speed, restricting its use to defensive or assault missions. It also depends on other units for longer range fire support and point-blank defense against infantry, however it proved to be a very effective tank against BattleMechs of any class.

Deployment
 The Sultan were organized in dedicated lances of four tanks, operating in close formation for mutual support. These lances were often also followed by other combat vehicles, specially the Marder Infantry Fighting Vehicles and LRM-carrier VTOLs (Wildcats or Hellcats)

History
 Few variants were created. Sone users prefer to reduce one ton of AC/10 ammo and add a Machine Gun in the turret with 0.5ton of ammo.

This is an assault scout mech that is expect to move through various terrain and take the flank to harrass the enemy. It have exceptional Jump MP for its tonnage and is also fast while walk as well. With incredible Jump MP combined with Chameleon LPS and Null Signature System it is very hard to hit too.

I bet that the faction to make it would be the Republic, and it may escort the Poseidon.
