I had a feeling that was you the other day.

Honestly, the assault matches were some of the best I’ve ever played, mostly because people actually
cared about the objective rather than turned it into Skirmish with extra steps. The base rushes I tried didn’t work; to succeed, my team had to get a little creative. A small capture lance to go to the enemy base through flanking maneuvers, while the heavy hitters keep the bad guys occupied.
My problem that game was that I was trying and failing to keep up in a 64 kph
Black Knight, got intercepted by an
Ebon Jaguar, and ultimately never made it to the enemy base. Though it might’ve helped in the end, as I kept that
Ebon Jaguar busy with me while my team captured the enemy base. You decide.

Anyway, I’m not complaining about this weekend event that got extended. I unironically wish more of my Assault matches were like this. Maybe with less deathball base rushes that sometimes turn into base races, but still with a focus on completing the objective. Skirmish is fun sometimes, but I don’t want it to be my entire
MechWarrior Online experience. I like fighting over and completing objectives much more than I like deathmatches.
