Errata for Errata 2.0 (p. 17):

1) Change the first entry for Special Ability Descriptions and Conversion Rules (p. 347) to read:In the C3 Master Computer (C3M#) entry, change the third line in the second paragraph under “Advanced
Rules” to delete the words “…with line of sight.”

2) Delete the second entry for Special Ability Descriptions and Conversion Rules (p. 347) completely.

"An aerospace unit using abstract movement never suffers random movement.  If they would do so and are not already out of control, they go out of control instead."

Strategic Operations, pg131, under JumpShip Gymnastics:

"There's a brief period for the drive controller to accept certain feedback, like recognizing a gravity-distorted field or damage in the core from quick-charging."

Should read, per pg22 HMHB sidebar, "Salt in Their Blood":

"There's a brief period for the drive controller to accept certain feedback, like recognizing a gravity-distorted field via the Brandt Recoil effect or damage in the core from quick-charging."

First Printing, but doesn't show in the errata or the effects in the MUL.
Page 346, under BOMB(BOMB#) doesn't list anything for VTOLs to carry bombs but per TacOps page 108 VTOLs may now carry bombs, alternatively the section should state that thos rules don't apply under BattleForce/QuickStrike

Reflective should be RFA.

Also
SO p358
The entire section of "Reflective (Glazed) and Reactive (Blazer) Armor" should be removed.  There is no longer an armor value multiplier for this armor types, just the special ability.

"Elements underwater take only 50 percent of normal damage (round down to a minimum of 1) from each attack; however, each attack generates a Critical Hit chance regardless of whether or not structure is damaged (see Roll For Critical Hits, p. 236)."

I suspect that this is already in some document somewhere but I can't find it in either this tread or the current errata document because I'm simply carrying it forward from something I noticed in the ASC BT:PVS thread where it was noted that the Rokurokubi RK-4K has ENE and the RK-4T doesn't, a quick check of the unit and StratOps so I knew what ENE was (I was confusing it with EEE/EE/FC) and then I noticed something: the RK-4K has a sword and ENE is restricted to unarmed units and those with strict energy weapon loadouts.

So StartOps, page 349, ENE entry change "Conversion: No weapons or only energy weapons." to "Conversion: No weapons or only energy weapons and physical attack weapons."

Additionally exceptions may well need to be added for the following weapons:
Plasma Cannon/Rifle [Energy Weapons that use ammo but neither weapon nor ammo explode]
Chem lasers [Energy Weapons with exploding ammo]
Heavy Laser (Including improved) [Exploding energy weapons]
PPC Capacitors [Exploding energy weapon accessory]

* Armor Diagram (p. 12)
Replace the "Capital-Scale Armor" section with the following:

Capital-Scale: JumpShips, WarShips and Space Stations track armor and structural integrity using capital scale (10 x standard-scale). To help differentiate capital-scale from standard-scale, these record sheets use squares for each armor and structural integrity point, instead of circles.

* Allocate Weight For Structural Integrity (p. 146)
After the first sentence insert the following:

Advanced aerospace units possess capital-scale Structural Integrity (SI): each point is equal to 10 points of standard-scale SI.

P. 287, Artillery
After Cruise Missiles add a new section:

Artillery Cannons
Artillery cannons do not use command points for direct or indirect fire.  They do not use artillery to-hit modifiers, but instead use standard attack to-hit modifiers, including range, terrain, etc.  They may fire indirectly using the standard IF#, Indirect Fire rules (see p. 225).  Artillery cannons, like standard Artillery, make their attack in addition to their standard attacks, may target a POI (Point of Interest) rather than a target unit, and scatter (at half the distance of standard artillery). They do not apply the immobile target modifier.

p192, Ammunition Quality Table:
The table lists the chances of salvaged ammo jamming, which can in turn lead to ammo exploding. A footnote states that gauss ammo cannot but explode, but neglects to mention plasma ammo, which is also non-explosive.

*Gauss ammunition does not explode.

should be changed to

*Gauss and plasma ammunition does not explode.

Corrected Second Printing, PDF, p115, Capital Weapons Detailed Range Table:

The three Mass Driver entries show both the heat and the damage of the weapons in the Heat column. There is no damage column on this table.

Light Mass Driver 30/60 1–10 11–20 21–30 31–40
Medium Mass Driver 60/100 1-9 10-18 19-27 28-36
Heavy Mass Driver 90/140 1-8 9-16 17-24 25-32

Suggested Fix:

Remove the erroneous damage value.

Light Mass Driver 30 1–10 11–20 21–30 31–40
Medium Mass Driver 60 1-9 10-18 19-27 28-36
Heavy Mass Driver 90 1-8 9-16 17-24 25-32

Strategic Operations p.49

I have been looking at the Battle and Raid tables for linked scenarios and I believe that they are incorrect.  The only way to get a Base Attack scenario is for the attacker to have a campaign score of +5 or greater and the defender to have a campaign score of -5 or less.  If the players had the scores during the order writing phase, the difference in scores is 10.  This would be an automatic win for the attacker based on the third campaign victory condition of outperforming the opposition.

The +5/-5 error would actually apply to both tables.  In any case where the players have scores of +5/-5 no battle would take place.  I believe that both tables should end at scores of +4.5/-4.5 and have the scenarios readjusted accordingly.  I am posting this both here and in the rules question section.  If I am incorrect could someone please explain where I am mistaken.

Thank you.
The discussion in your rules question thread (http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=14523.0) appears to have missed something. On pg 49 of SO, under the "Winning the Campaign" section, it says the campaign is over if either side has an unmodified campaign score at least 10 points higher than the opponent's. On pg 48 of SO, under the "Determining Scenarios" section, there are modifiers that can give the attacker a +1, +2, or +3 to it's campaign score when determining the scenario. While the errata you suggested and Xotl agreed with makes the Base Attack scenario more likely, it was possible before, with only a +4/-3 campaign score ratio.

Problem: The rules on Bad Reputtion quirk on p. 196 SO, don't match the rules for the same quirk on p. 86 BMM. BMM states, that a Clan 'Mech with a Bad Reputation gives it's MechWarrior one dezgra point at the beginning of a battle fought under Clan Honor rules instead of a lower resale value. No such note is made in the SO.
Solution: Change the SO rules for the quirk to match those in BMM.

Xotl: There will be a Quirks Update document bringing pre-Manual quirks up to the Manual standard.

Version 3.0 is out.  This contains most of the errata that will appear in the upcoming third printing of SO.

Note that there's a separate list of corrections for BattleForce.  This is the same list as has been available for a couple of years, with a few new updates.  I've not included it in this main errata document.  It will be available later when I have time to clean it up.

Big changes are updating quirks to the BattleMech Manual standard and updates to maintenance to make it less explodey.

Of all the errata releases coming out today, this is the only one marked PRE.  That's not because the errata isn't final, but because the document is so ugly that I don't want to up it to the main site.  I'll try to find time to clean that up later as well.

There is one thing, that was apparently missed when compiling the recent errata document. Clarifications regarding how to determine unit's facing after an atmospheric drop discussed here http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=59530.0 appeared only in the BMM errata (under Dropping 'Mechs (p. 80)), but should also appear in the SO errata (under Atmospheric Drops on pp. 22-23). Note, that in the BMM errata thread I've posted report regarding an issue in how the new BMM errata handles facing atmospheric drops (in short - it says how to determine facing after a succeful drop, but not after a failed one). A correction of this issue should be included in the SO errata.

Strat Ops v2.0 PDF, p199. Quirk Examples:

"Mike’s Chippewa aerospace fighter employs special insulation on its large lasers. However, it is a notorious gas hog that is also hard to pilot.
Positive Quirks
Improved Cooling Jacket x 4 (Large Lasers) ...................4"

Tac Ops p322 states the Laser Insulator was designed specifically for the Chippewa, so it shouldn't have the Improved Cooling Jackets quirk. The simple fix would be to drop the Improved Cooling Jacket Quirk from the example, but that nerfs the intent somewhat as the quirk intro section on SO p193 says to try and balance positive and negative quirks. However, the quirk list in the BMM p90-95 has 'Mechs that only have positive and negative quirks so that isn't really an issue. So either amend the example, or change it to something else that is balanced.

Okay, further updates in the multi-year process to update SO.  We're getting closer to a reprint, but I still don't have a firm date.  Still, it's close enough that I feel it's worth putting out what extra pieces have accumulated over the past year and a half, to meet the traditional errata date.  it's not as pretty a document as normal, because I don't have the time to format it properly, but it should be usable; let me know if you have any issues.

Also in the first post is the cleaned up BattleForce amendment I mentioned back in December 2017, and a complete rework of Customization to close more loopholes, because the original is quite unclear.  Big thanks to various anons and MegaMek pros for piles of help with the Customization rework.
