As a visual accompaniment to Renegades, I've started doing colourisations of TRO art to represent the various character 'Mechs featured.

How are you painting these guys up? I only have MS Paint it take quite long time to fill in the blanks.

Can't speak for Deadborder, but Krita is a free application which has a really useful polygonal point-to-point selection tool for stuff like this. I'm slowly getting in the habit of using it more and more and Paint Dot Net less and less.

I'm using GIMP, which is a freeware graphics program. My process requires some degree of layering, which means that preparing the 'template' for each 'Mech is the hardest part of it.

I've been trying GIMP and been having major issues trying do it.  I had to have a friend who knew GIMPs help me until the table/tools got hidden and I could figure out how to get them back.  It's not a novice thing for certain.

Definitely. It took me a lot of work to get to where I am, and I had a lot of failures along the way
