I will say that putting a pilot with the Natural Grace SPA in an Annihilator is utterly delicious. It is deadly and comedically effective all at once.

And it really gave my smartass opponent's Phoenix Hawk a very, very rude surprise.

As far as the 'mech -- I like it. But maybe because it commits so hard to what it is.

Which part of Natural Grace proved so effective, aside from the sick dance moves?

When your opponent has a tendency to never not jump behind you, it was easy to bait him for an alpha strike.

"Oh, did I move my glacially slow 'mech into a bad position? Ugh, silly me. Whatever will I do?"

Didn't see that Phoenix Hawk for the rest of the game since it was too busy cowering behind some building.

The advantage of this tactic is that since it doesn't really on Pointblank Shots, you can lead your prey into a kill zone that is actually a short distance away from DadBodzilla's hiding place, making it harder for them to spoil the ambush by finding the Annihilator before you're ready.

A good amount of luck is needed if the other player brought Probes, but it can still be done.

Now I'm imagining an Annihilator with an ECM unit specifically to block those probes. Curse you Weirdo!

Downside to that is, the Probe knows it's being jammed, which is enough to tell them something's up. I'd prefer that the bait lead them on a wide enough path that the Probe doesn't even suspect anything's out there until too late.

That being said, I would *love* an ECM-equipped Anni, if only so Ghost Targets can give it the defensive mod its legs cannot.

I have a friend who would totally concur with Ghost Targets...He made a lot of use of that ECM ability during the Word of Blake War campaign I ran many moons ago...

I am sure if you can find an Annihilator you can find an ECM equipped battle armor suit fast enough to keep up.

This is the best use of ECM-equipped BA, IMO.

Oh, absolutely. I had an adventure pretty much exactly like that a little while back, though that time it was an Ares(something that needs the Ghost Target mod even more than the Annihilator does). It's discussed in the Nighthawk thread.

Played a match against a 2A yesterday.  My team was pretty worried since it was the only assault on the field and the heaviest thing we had was a Vulture.

As it turned out, the mech's lack of maneuverability meant that it was stuck firing at long range the entire fight and just couldn't get any hits in.  And given how shallow its ammo bins are, it ran out of slug rounds pretty quickly and had to resort to using cluster shells on largely undamaged mechs.  By the time the game ended, it was at high risk of our team just pulling back and sniping it to death from outside its maximum range using Clan ER Large Lasers.

If you're playing a BV game and are able, 3-jump ECM BA would be a better bargain, and not be vulnerable to mobility crits :)  Probably cheaper BV-wise than putting ECM on the 'mech!

For real giggles, use BA with magnetic clamps.

For real giggles, use BA with magnetic clamps.

That would be great for just transporting them around, but once they hit combat they need to dismount if the mechwarrior in the Annihilator wants to use the torso-mounted guns.

They could walk as fast as the Anni could carry them, thanks to the speed penalty caused by transporting BA.

Can't do that, you just convinced me to buy some Zoryas.

Given your propensity for aerial attack, and IIRC, vehicles, maybe it's your opponents who should be buying Zoryas  :P :D

And AA duty . . . seriously, the SharkFoxes should have been raking in the c-bills selling them all over the IS.
