FM:CC Supplement: Clan Burrock
« on: 26 January 2011, 01:26:52 »
This project looks at all Burrock information form Operation: Klondike, Era Report: Golden Century, FM:CC, FM:WC and other sources.  From this, I have created a field manual entry for Clan Burrock.

In this PDF, you will get everything you would find in a field manual entry:

- A full history up until the Clan's absorption into Clan Star Adder
- An entire Touman complete with abilities, history, and location
- Information on the Totem, allies and enemies, personalities, field uniforms, military, practices, organization, and much more!

You will be surprised.  Clan Burrock played a key role in homeworld Clan development, stepped on a lot of toes (notably Blood Spirit and Fire Mandrill) and even developed technologies that are in use today.  While they are under the radar they were a considerable threat when they existed.

Enjoy, I've worked very hard on it.

*A special thanks to wolfcannon who gave me his roster and some sources to work with!  It was a lot of help!

ALSO, I created an unofficial OmniMech for Clan Burrock here.  The thread has the .ssw file, ALL HMP files, .pdf's of record sheets, plus all the MegaMek images, all made by me.  This OmniMech is also included in the supplement.

Go here for MegaMek camo patterns.

Nothing to worry about!  I got it all backed up in multiple places.

I have the fanon handbook here.  I'm not going to make another thread for it because I'm much more happy with the FM:CC Supplement.  It's much more pure.

I noticed that your Clan section is longer than any of those in the Field manuels. Does that mean the Burrocks are the most important Clan?   ;)

Is it really?  Wow.  I guess I just put more detail into it.  :)

Yes, and thank you so much!  The touman you gave me really set the gears in motion...  it was the hardest part, IMO.

Yours came out as 38 pages when I saved it to read in detail later. I don't recall any of the other entries being that long. Altho' now that I think on it, theirs may have been larger pages.

No matter, I'm still looking forward to reading it. Us Burrock fans have to stick together against all those other meanie Clans.

And stick our tongues out at them. :P

though the Burrock's tainted themselves with the dark caste, we support our brother and sisters in rebellion against the b****ds of kerensky.

When the War of Reaving is done, the Dark Caste may be the biggest Clan left.

The Dark Caste is just one of the Castes,,,not a clan, they are a part of all clans. As to the fact of the Burrocks,,,some have siad they were "absorbed" but I dont think their gone,,,they just waiting to overthrow their new masters, the Star Adders.Theres a few facts that could point this out,,,I'd have to look up the examples I have found, and will post em for your interpatation.   :-\

When the War of Reaving is done, the Dark Caste may be the biggest Clan left.

The Dark Caste is just one of the Castes, not a clan, they are a part of all clans.  As to the fact of the Burrocks, some have said they were "absorbed" but I don't think their gone, they just waiting to overthrow their new masters, the Star Adders.  There's a few facts that could point this out, I'd have to look up the examples I have found, and will post em for your interpretation.   :-\

1 - Their founding Khans are from the Rim Worlds and have quite the past.  They supported the Terran Hegemony and fought against General Kerensky.  Then they had a change of heart, General Kerensky forgave them, and then they join the Exodus.  Then they join the second exodus and become Khans.

2 - Burrock lied about destroying the part of their Clan that joined the Dark Caste.  It could have been planned all along.  Who knows what they were really up to until it was officially discovered again.  The Clan probably used the Bandit Caste to supply their forces and what not.  This influence could have grown significantly since the lie.

3 - After the absorption Burrocks were quick to join Cloud Cobra Cloisters.  It's a brief mention in FM:WC but it could mean something considering the whole Inner Sphere/Cloud Cobra thing going on.

4 - I know Clan Star Adder reported their dealings, but given their "alliance," I find the entire ordeal suspicious.  They probably found out about it while the Burrocks were assisting them in the past and were reluctant to act on it because of how they made out with the expeditions.  Profits were shared, maybe even profits or other things gained from the Bandit Caste.  The absorption could have been another cover up.

Take it as you will.  I have my own theories derived from my research.

I'm more inclined to believe that the Star Adders reported it because the Burrocks were getting better deals since they had better connections.

That could be true.  It's not like the Clans were never guilty of throwing tantrums.

Or maybe some disgruntled Star Adder merchant reported it to his Khan after getting stiffed on a deal. The Khan sensed a chance to strengthen his Clan in a big way and went for it.

Needless to say, the Adders didn't bother to mention that some of their merchants were in on the business, too. That wouldn't be prudent.

If anyone downloaded the supplement, get it again.  I updated it because Stormfury found the reference for the 5th planet Clan Burrock had a garrison force on.  On top of that, I mentioned their involvement on the Tanite Worlds (thanks hawkeye).

well between hawkeye n the everready wolfie(me) n Fear Factory(former daniel kabrinski) the burrocks seemed to pretty well fleshed out.   i personally find the lack of info on the Burrock's, Mongoose and Widomakers perplexing.   granted the widow's touman would only be a galaxy or two at most before they were absorbed.

i do, but with soooo little info to gather, which i have, plus another gent already has done a AU Burrock storyline where a galaxy was sent dark caste huntin before the absorbtion and came back to find what happened, declared a resual against it, fought and won and voila Burrock reborn.

I actually care about the Burrocks, they are part of the Star Adders. To me the Burrocks add flavor to the Star Adders. Its like the Adders are 2 clans.
