Without the Clan Invasion KS, a lot of the redesigned Mechs simply wouldn't exist as a physical product.

"Investing" in a KS increases the possibility of the product becoming retail reality..

My thoughts on this come from my point of view as a backer from a country that was labelled as "Rest-Of-World", which resulted in me paying 2.5 times more for the shipping fee, than a backer from an EU country that shares a border with us. In an answer to my enquiry about distribution, shipping and import fees, it was mentioned that QuarterMaster logistics has a wide network that covers around 95% of world countries and that in most cases import fees are covered.

What I find very annoying (and potentially disingenuous) is the conflating of the terms "EU" and "European". I see that this done in a lot of kickstarter campaigns.

In the end, for me, the only benefit was that I received my stuff earlier than if I ordered them online from stores.

But that is not the case for backers that are in countries that are covered by dedicated distribution centers. Have I lived in the US, UK or some EU country at the time of that kickstarter, than benefits of participating in the kickstarter would have been much greater. So there is excuse not to participate if you are living in a country with a dedicated distibution center.

Hopefully, the improved European distribution being worked on helps out that side of the "Rest-Of-World".
If you're in South America or something like that, though, my condolences.

If the actual "European" distribution center CGL mentioned becomes operational before the new Mercenaries kickstarter, that will drastically impact the way I am thinking on participating.

I'm sure Razorclaw enjoys all the new, quality, affordable products, but I for one can't blame him for being a wee bit apprehensive.

It would have been a lot better if I hadn't had to disassemble several of the mechs to fix their poses. Overall I can't complain much, I love the new designs.

Thought we had a few people on here talking about individual direct communication vs communicating through the KS.

You misunderstood. I didn't mean that CGL should have used the comment section of the kickstarter page to communicate with people whose orders were incomplete or missing. What I wanted to say is that CGL has stopped posting updates for that kickstarter at all, while there are still backers with issues that need fixing. Which is something that I think should have been acknowledged and addressed through an update.

So the start is "Fall"

How long after the pledge was our CC hit? or rather was the final confirmation of the pledge? ... Summers are rough till school starts back up, what I have available in August is much less than what I can cover in October.

For Kickstarter your card is generally charged when the campaign ends (provided it hit its funding goal). That is for what you pledge during the campaign. Anything during the Pledge Manager is handled then. I believe that amount is charged as soon as you hit "finalize" or whatever at the end. So in your particular case, if the campaign is in August you might try pledging a lesser amount during the campaign and then add more to the Pledge Manager since it will be at least a few weeks later if not a month or more.

It's a Regent all right, but won't be part of the KS (according to current info).

The Regent is currently locked into one of the US-distributor exclusive ForcePacks.

IWM will have a metal version as a summer release though..

The Regent and Sagittaire have been known for quite some time to be in upcoming boxes, Sagittaire in the ELH and Regent in the GDL.

The Hoplite is a new one afaik . . . be interesting to get another Dragoons box as part of the KS- Hoplite, Imp (previously shown?), throw in a Gallowglas and Firefly and I would be really happy.

We've already seen previews of the Firefly and Flea. The Firefly knocks it completely out of the park, while the Flea is disappointing at best. All of its character has been stripped out in favor of becoming the Doctor Thunder of Locusts.

Oh, I remember the Flea, but was not recalling the Firefly . . . but if the Imp exists, it is another 3 Dragoon mechs . . . I mean, I like the current Gallowglas mini but it would not bother me to get another.

Inclusion of the Hoplite strikes me as an eyebrow raiser.  Dragoon mech, that hasn't been produced for a couple centuries. Most varieties are extinct after the Jihad, if not before.

Why make it?

1. Ugly duckling factor (its like a flatter Urbie?)
2. Dragoons getting some face time in the age of Mercenaries?

Interesting inclusion, IMO.

It is an common problem with the Flea, for example after buying the metal Flea FLE-16 I had to mod it to make it look nice.

The attempt to make the playing pieces viable through all eras.  Since it was hinted we are going to end up with a RecGuide 2.0 it opens up some options.  Besides, with the Dragoons having their own world again . . .

True--but if the Whitworth can be left in the dustbin of history, I think the Hoplite would make it good company.....

It would be cool to get the Gallowglass. A favorite/obsession of mine since I was a child, due to TRO 3055 being one of my earliest purchases.

That Schrek looks very bulky, one step closer to the DI Morgan (AKA Heat Sink Carrier) than the original.

Yeah, and it looks like the plastic Flea will be modeled after that instead of the -15.   :(

The FLE-16 looks nice, but it doesn't look like a Flea.

A Flea is a box on legs. Simple as that.

Both of those definitely need revised art and minis.

Rak mini is OK, but the legs are horrid for sizing and appearance.

The Falconer looks good if perhaps a bit dated, but the static legs give it problems . . . which is annoying on what is supposed to be a very mobile mech.  I want to get around to having my Falconer's legs off the half-base so I can make it run or something.

Meh. Pewter isn't getting any cheaper.
Worst comes worst, if I really don't like the sculpt, I'll just chop the body off and replace it with a plastic cube. Paint it up as a cardboard box or something. Amazon in 3025.

Nothing is getting cheaper  :(

My point is we have more options now than we ever did. I not going to be critical of the art not fitting my particular tast when I still remember when new art and minis was not a possibility and the current demographic isn't those who already be playing the game for 10-20-30 years with Fasa era designs.
