Without the Clan Invasion KS, a lot of the redesigned Mechs simply wouldn't exist as a physical product.
"Investing" in a KS increases the possibility of the product becoming retail reality..
My thoughts on this come from my point of view as a backer from a country that was labelled as "Rest-Of-World", which resulted in me paying 2.5 times more for the shipping fee, than a backer from an EU country that shares a border with us. In an answer to my enquiry about distribution, shipping and import fees, it was mentioned that QuarterMaster logistics has a wide network that covers around 95% of world countries and that in most cases import fees are covered.
What I find very annoying (and potentially disingenuous) is the conflating of the terms "EU" and "European". I see that this done in a lot of kickstarter campaigns.
In the end, for me, the only benefit was that I received my stuff earlier than if I ordered them online from stores.
But that is not the case for backers that are in countries that are covered by dedicated distribution centers. Have I lived in the US, UK or some EU country at the time of that kickstarter, than benefits of participating in the kickstarter would have been much greater. So there is excuse not to participate if you are living in a country with a dedicated distibution center.
Hopefully, the improved European distribution being worked on helps out that side of the "Rest-Of-World".
If you're in South America or something like that, though, my condolences.
If the actual "European" distribution center CGL mentioned becomes operational before the new Mercenaries kickstarter, that will drastically impact the way I am thinking on participating.
I'm sure Razorclaw enjoys all the new, quality, affordable products, but I for one can't blame him for being a wee bit apprehensive.
It would have been a lot better if I hadn't had to disassemble several of the mechs to fix their poses. Overall I can't complain much, I love the new designs.
Thought we had a few people on here talking about individual direct communication vs communicating through the KS.
You misunderstood. I didn't mean that CGL should have used the comment section of the kickstarter page to communicate with people whose orders were incomplete or missing. What I wanted to say is that CGL has stopped posting updates for that kickstarter at all, while there are still backers with issues that need fixing. Which is something that I think should have been acknowledged and addressed through an update.
