since they want to have all 22 out by "early 2021", it won't be a super long wait. there are twelve bi-weekly spots for 2020 (without accounting for the break) so we'll probably get a total of fifteen-ish in 2020 and seven-ish in 2021

Please, PLEASE do not read those tea leaves so closely.

Not to split hairs, but the exact word I used was that these would be coming out through early 2021. We do want to try to hit that mark. But I'll be frank: the bi-weekly production schedule of these, especially alongside everything else we're putting out weekly, has ground the people managing our production pipeline into hamburger, myself included.

One of the lessons we've learned from these first volumes is that we need to have ALL of the volumes in each cycle (I'm intentionally not using the term "wave" to avoid confusion with the Kickstarter) complete before any are released. That means the break between cycles may be a bit longer than we originally planned, but the benefit to you is that once a cycle starts, you'll be guaranteed to get each volume every other week without fail.

Yes, it may seem like that's been happening anyway. But I'm telling you, behind the scenes, it's getting increasingly grisly to be able to pull that off with this first cycle. So, don't try to get too specific about how many bi-weekly slots there are, etc. We'll adjust expectations as need be. Just know that our revised planning is really a sign of commitment to getting all 22 of these out--we just have to do it in a way that doesn't crush our contributors and production team.

Some of us understand that these are a work in progress and it will take time.  Most of us are psyched due to having releases than just promises.  The fact that there might be a few delays is part of life (ex Kickstarter).  Let’s face it December will be a challenge and if everything does not come out by 2025, I am here to say I understand.

Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see what happens in the iClan era.

Since 22 isn't evenly divisible by 6, what will our remaining cycles look like?

6-6-4?

6-5-5?

Or has it even  been decided yet?
I have spoken.

Not quite decided. Either 6/5/6/5 or 6/6/5/5.

My own opinion, I'd like the final volume of each cycle to "pop" a little bit, so we close out that cycle on a high note and try to carry some excitement into the next. So that's a consideration in how many volumes are in each. But I'm starting to step on Jo's toes here...  :-X

Naaah. I've just spent the last three months with production timelines and weekly release schedules living in my brain, so I get a little twitchy whenever someone tries to project what might happen 7 months from now.

Will the last RecGuide be getting a errata with the TWolf W entry vs RS?  One thing I noticed last night going over it was besides the already mentioned UAC/20 & SSRM ammo discrepency is that the two vary in where the supercharger is also placed, CT vs side torso.

I really want to use this thing on someone, lol.

All we know is that it’s NOT coming Q3. They didn’t say it’s not coming out this year but they also didn’t say it was

We have been spoiled for Battletech this year: and I’m happy! Like 2020 has sucked, but Battletech is on a rampage! From PoD releases, to PDF minor supplements, TRO’s, and Turning Points, to the Kickstarter and beyond! Like just bravo all around.

Totally - I've been really appreciative that during this....what do you even call this 2020 year?!?....this longrunning hobby of mine (that has suffered with periods of frustrating stagnation for sure) has been rocking it.  I'm glad it's come together the way it has, because all these releases you mention have absolutely contributed to fun/distraction/positivity during "these times".

So yeah...bravo all around!! Thanks to this team of creative entertainers -- the writers, the artists, the editors and fact-checkers, the whole crew of contributors who make this happen -- for putting these fun things out this year.  Great job!

Anything dropping today?
Do we have a ballpark date on the next couple of Novels (Children of Kerensky and Hour of the Wolf)

Not on a Thursday. But this is a good time to mention that we've made an adjustment, and will be hoping to put out the two Touring the Stars volumes related to OTP: Hanseatic Crusade, Braunschweig and Valencia, tomorrow. The two Spotlight On volumes for Hellion Keshik and Schmidt's Petraries, will follow at a later date. (But not too much later.)

Children of Kerensky went to fact-check last night, and is looking like probably mid-September-ish? Hour of the Wolf will not be out in August; I don't have much further insight into timing for that one. (Tons of work and input going into it.)

So fiction wise:  Is Hour of Kerensky next (whenever it does drop, no rush) or is Children of Kerensky next?  I'm a bit confused on that one.

Thanks for all the info!

So my Arano & TRO Golden Century did come in today.

I had already seen Arano and its a great piece I wish we could get more of (like Minor House of each Successor State?) but TRO Golden Century . . . honestly, at a close look it is hard to tell the difference between it and my old TROs I bought from bookstores in the late 90s.

Essentially it's likely about the early Dark Age Era, what was used by splinter groups when they DIDN'T have enough BattleMechs. Which they didn't.
Mix of Support Vehicles, with literally half of the book with armed civilian industrial mechs.  However, the preview for the book was like three years ago, so things may have changed or added.  Its going be same as Golden Century, modest number units and record sheets.
"Men, fetch the Urbanmechs.  We have an interrogation to attend to." - jklantern
"How do you defeat a Dragau? Shoot the damn thing. Lots." - Jellico
"No, it's a "Most Awesome Blues Brothers scene Reenactment EVER" waiting to happen." VotW Destrier - Weirdo
"It's 200 LY to Sian, we got a full load of shells, a half a platoon of Grenadiers, it's exploding outside, and we're wearing flak jackets." VoTW Destrier - Misterpants

Soon™️

I can probably do a little better than that.

I'm about halfway through editing it now. Once it slipped off of its initial due date, it kept getting buried under the weekly grind of everything else. Once I finish editing Rec Guide 6 today or tomorrow, that's next. I'm told there may also be some hiccups with record sheets for it, but those are getting sorted out AFAIK.

It's not vaporware. It will come out. The fact that we only had to sacrifice one product in achieving a summer of weekly releases, an accomplishment this line has never seen before, seems pretty good to me.
