Would it have killed them to do variants for the Mad Cat and Black Hawk?

A plastic Mad Cat A would be fantastic, and a Black Hawk D, whilst not the greatest 'Mech in the world, would be visually distinct from the Prime.

It would have killed the product, yes. I’ll repeat: the answer to your question is “yes.”

Take out the mechs that are in already-announced products and you've got more than half of the total for the Mercenaries Kickstarter.  I expect we're going to see plenty of 3055 and 3058 mechs in the Kickstarter, to boot, since a lot of the mechs released in those TROs were listed as being aimed at the mercenary market like the Grand Titan (I so want to see a variant that doesn't suck), Bandersnatch, Gallowglas, Lynx, Merlin...

Warhammer and Phoenix Hawk.

I stand corrected but not at all disappointed.

Warhammer and Phoenix Hawk.

I stand corrected but not at all disappointed.

I think that is a smart play . . . I know I plan on getting a box even if I do not play Alpha Strike- getting two Warhammers and two Phoenix Hawks is gravy.  They would never appear on my list of 'I have too many of these' like Atlas and Cyclops.

The 'Mechs specifically mentioned for the second Kickstarter are not 'Mechs that are in any of the new lance packs, and the devs specifically told me to put my hopes for the outstanding 3025 'Mechs like the Vindicator and Javelin in the second Kickstarter. So I would expect the majority of the designs that end up in that to be ones which have not been released elsewhere.

I would like to ask in a more specific way:

Will the "new" new Mechs in the Lance Packs, i.e.

Annihilator - WD Lance
Sagittaire - ELH Lance
Penetrator - HR Lance
Nightsky - KH Lance
Gunslinger - NH Lance
Regent - GDL Lance

Be featured in the Kickstarter as well or are they exclusive to these Force Packs?

Yeah, thats what I was wondering too. We can also assume that these stretch goals that are mentioned could be these lance packs? Or are they something else entirely.

Got fairly excited when this popped up in my news feed, but then I remembered the utterly atrocious customer service with the last kick starter, so no thanks, fool me once...

Guys I know we're all excited but if you read the posts in the thread you usually have the answers to the questions you're asking already posted.

Oh, it's not excitement per se. In a thread involving hundreds of posts, it's easy to miss a single sentence.

To be honest, though, I was going off the primary source, and didn't see this explication there. Thank you for pointing that out though; it is heartening and increases the viability of the sculpts and thereby the packs immeasurably. Cheers.

Killed the product? Killed? Bit overly dramatic, don't'cha think?
These resculps are actually still expensive, the 3D work is a lot less but the new molds aren't cheaper.

By repeats I think they were talking about reused sculpts. I don't believe there are any duplicates in the box. So to summarize, the Alpha Strike box seems to contain:

Five Clan Mechs (a star):
-Reposed/variant Warhawk
-Timer Wolf Prime
-Nova Prime
-Pouncer Prime
-Reposed/variant Fire Moth

Eight I.S. Mechs (two lances):
-Reposed/variant Atlas
-Warhammer
-Reposed/variant Archer
-Wraith
-Reposed/variant Blackjack (it is curious we're apparently getting a third resculpt of this not especially popular mech - somebody must really like it on the design team. Personally, I love it from Mechwarrior Online but in universe it's considered a second rate dog of a mech by everyone but Davion and St. Ives)
-Phoenix Hawk
-Reposed/variant Stinger
-Reposed/variant Locust

Purely based on box cover art, the Warhawk could be the C configuration :

The C configuration was a sort of compromise on the Primary configuration of the Warhawk. The 'Mech carried two ER PPCs for deadly accurate long range fire, supported at close range by a pair of powerful and already highly accurate Large Pulse Lasers, the lethality of all four weapons only increased by the Targeting Computer. The 'Mech carried a Flamer as well for use against infantry and mounted three additional double heat sinks to handle the 'Mech's heat load.

Yup, I think you nailed it.

Fire Moth is probably B or D because the beams are green coloured which means medium lasers.

Archer is 2K or 5R because of the arm firing a blue beam (large laser).

And the Warhammer is clearly the rare SLR (Stepped on a Lawn Rake) variant.

TPTB: "STOP ASKING US ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS BOX. HERE'S ENOUGH STUFF FOR FIVE YEARS."
And it's all coming in one year.

Fantastic work

There are entirely too many force packs here.  I am spoiled by choice and my bank account hates me.  Especially with another kickstarter on the way with vehicles (yes finally, thank you CGL).  I know TPTB would never confirm nor deny anything, but I am curious if this means some combined arms rulebook in the vein of Battlemech manual is in the works (I notice the books they announced are largely without description)

I am especially pleased to see combat manuals return, though will we have to rebuy the first two?

we'll have to wait to see how FM: Davion diverges from the original format. people will have to determine whether those changes rise to a second purchase when Kurita and Mercs come back around. i doubt they'll be a total redo

As the one who suggested the Urbanmech plushie as a potential stretch goal for the last kickstarter, I'm gonna call out Catalyst and do it again - this time the Bounty Hunter's Marauder as a plushie.  He's the ultimate mercenary, he'd be perfect for it.  And just picture how it'd look.  Little stub legs, puffy PPC gunpods, and a droopy gun barrel on top; the football-shaped main body can be almost a sphere if you wanted to go for maximum cute.  And the sensor peeking out like a mono-eye...do it all up in bright green with printed symbols on one side; come on.  Can you not love such a thing?

I wonder fi we will see somthing like a "CityTech" Box with the Kickstarter?

An expansion for the AGoAC Set and the upcoming AS Starter Set to introduce Vehicle / ASF / Infantry rules.

Infantry and APCs would be also nice stuff for the Kickstarter...

Pretty Excited for the new stuff!
Ray will the new Combat Manuals extend to the IlKhan era or just to the Clan Invasion like the previous Mercenary and Kurtia books?
I may have a low amount of posts but I have a PHD in Battletech and mechs older then most people on this board!

Infantry and APCs would be also nice stuff for the Kickstarter...

Beyond the Firestarter, the Black Python, and some common vehicles, the only thing I feel like my plastic collection really NEEDS is infantry and more kinds of battle armor.
