Looks to me like they are meant for GMs to use as rewards for prospective players.

So how long do I have to wait till Captain Skippy's UrbanMech Cavalry shows up in the Miniatures section?

There's precedent for the design to be deployed en masse:

4) The Charge of the Rubbermaid Brigade

The next time they do a reprint of Total Warfare, I recommend that the cover art feature a single Urbanmech standing proudly and firing its autocannon.

There's precedent for the design to be deployed en masse:

1) For GMs, they're a good lightweight OpFor for your PCs to be able to mow down and feel good about themselves, but aren't as prone to flying apart as the smaller bug 'Mechs.

I saw on FB a week or two ago that someone was 16 shy of having a full regiment of Urbies already.

The Urbie box should be covered in Star League Quartermaster Corps markings and logos.

Why. Just why?
Oh you're not asking the right questions here.
It's not about Why it's about What's next?

I'll admit a company of Urbies I might not buy. I love the little derps but not THAT much.
They can be useful though. Urbie Derbys, cheap mook forces, etc, a lot of this covered by the other posters.
Also this is great synergy with PseudoTech Arcade Operations some day, slap the two together and have Power Ups with the trash cans. Watch the stupid fun commence.

No see, there's potential for the Urbie box but you're missing the big picture.
CGL has now established a precedent on a company mini box

So while some of you wail to the heavens, beseeching answers as to why a company of Mech pugs dogs are for sale, I'll merely smile, sit back and ask...
"Oh cool CGL nice, now: Marauder Gunslinger box when?"
*taps noggin*
got to think about the bigger picture my fellow warriors.

At first glance i read that as "shy of having 16 full regiments of Urbies" :o

Oh God- Snord's irregulars 3025, The Cresent Hawks, The Black Widow company, John "Big Booty" Stetson (with a pure-black hatchetman with a skull face) and the rest of his Lone Wolves: sweet googaly-moogaly, there's a GAZILLION little ideas out there, and especially if they came with AS cards, maybe a tiny scenario sheet and unit write up?

ohhhhh, man!  great for modder/painters, great for players, great for the CGL bank account...  nothing but win!

You, my friend, are in the 31st century while us plebs were still here in the 21st! :-) hahaha

Dark Shadows box - all Hermes IIs, all the time.
"We have made of New Avalon a towering funeral pyre and wiped the Davion scourge from the universe.  Tikonov, Chesterton and Andurien are ours once more, and the cheers of the Capellan people nearly drown out the gnashing of our foes' teeth as they throw down their weapons in despair.  Now I am made First Lord of the Star League, and all shall bow down to me and pay homa...oooooo! There's only one circumstance under which a Clan Invasion-era Crescent Hawks lance pack would be correct. I'm still on board with a Wilson's Hussars pack consisting of all the miscast, misassembled and damaged minis from each production run.

The Black Widow company,
I mean they did give us a Dragoon Star with some of the cards for the Widows like Gentlemen Johnny but yes! Exactly!
Now you see why I'm so happy they boxed up the little trashcans like this!  8)

six celestial. That leaves six slot. Nexus, raijin, rand Crusader, just to clear out the unseen.

Legacy or Toyama
Lightray or Redshift
buccaneer, gurkha?

Vanquisher, blueflame and initiate are the other WOB signatures, so... that would actually be a three level IIs. Add another level III of comstar mechs (Viking, Tessen, Grim Reaper, excaliber, shootist, spartan) and you'd have an entire level III of comstar/WOB mechs for when they come back and make a mess for 3250 (or Alaric. They deserve each other.)

/idiotic speculation.

/speculation.

The White Flame, Blue Flame and Red Shift simply because their thematic naming almost requires that they all be in the same force pack...  ;)

Yeah, plastic Celestials would be great. Maybe have a revamped Blake and Wolf, since having an Opacus Level II pack would cover the Celestials while a Venatori Level II pack would cover a lot of the common/iconic non-Celestial WoB 'Mechs.

I have no response prepared for that many Urbies in one box.

I have MW:DA pieces...I think I can mod them into Red, Blue, and White Lances..but I would need to get a second box to do Polka Dot Lance from Captain Zippy's UrbanMech Cavalry. That is my response.
