What Battlefield Support Pack Would YOU Make?
« on: 11 August 2022, 10:30:11 »
Just a little bit of fun, if you had your druthers and could make one or two extra Battlefield Support packs based on what hasn't been shown already, what would you make?

Battlefield Support: Artillery & Spotter
  • 2x Ballista Self-Propelled Artillery Tank
  • 2x Chaparral Missile Artillery Tank
  • 2x Sprint Scout Helicopter
  • 2x J. Edgar Light Hover Tank

Could have probably fit the Maxim in instead of the J. Edgar, but it looks like we're already getting that through the mercs box. Thoughts?

Couple things . . . following the format, it has four minis x2.  And it has to follow the Alpha Strike lance role construction.

For me it would be . . .

Direct Fire & Fire Support
Pike Support Vehicle x2
Partisan Heavy Tank x2
Hunter Light Tank x2
Striker Light Tank x2

I wanted something lighter than the Party van, but it was the appropriate non-variant Sniper from TRO3039.

I believe MHQ is already slated for an "Objective pack", along with Long Tom and MASH unit.

Flatbed truck is a good option, one i'd like to see but it needs cargo options: cargo, rocket/missile launchers.

I would go with Ammo Carrier. Always imagine those side by side with Coolant Trucks next to Mechs getting repaired and reloaded.

Good ideas both... Think there's space for a third objective pack...

2x FERRET

Artillery/Spotters pack.

2x Marksman
2x Thor
2x Chaparral
2x FERRET

Pretty sure it would not meet the Alpha Strike requirements

hmm.. how would you handle a comstar centric vehicle pack? their base 6 unit structure means it doesn't quite fit into the 4+4 set up. and going up to a 12 count box seems a bit iffy.

a unit of 6 and a pair of objective type vehicles?

75% are missile boats or snipers. The ferrets could be juggernauts it doesn’t matter

I thought it had to be a pair of vehicles to . . . so 2 Ferrets & 2 Marksmen or 2 Ferrets & 2 Thors- does not work.  The other 6 in the pack can form paired combos and function.

Battle lance is the only one that requires pairs

Battle lance is the only one that requires pairs
the boxes use pairs of vehicles though, probably just because it looks nicer and makes easier to build up a number of each tank.

I made it 8 like the rest of them, call it 2 lances, and its 3 arti & a spotter.

Even if only the battle lance requires matched pairs, I personally like having every lance be able to act as a battle lance if necessary. Plus, if you're running a Clan vehicle force it's nice to have matched pairs for the points.

I know this isn't going to happen but I think my ideal would be:
2x Chaparrals
2x LRM Carriers (I know they will already be part of the KS, but I want more of these than I do of the other tanks)
2x Strikers
2x Bulldogs
