Cleared that up in my text. I meant seven or less characters.

Most unbelievable aspect of the BTU?  Aside from things already listed, the sheer number of times a faction is forgotten bout for a few years because if TPTB remembered they existed it would screw things up.

Like the fact that the Steel Vipers did absolutely nothing in the Inner Sphere after the Refusal War until the Falcons easily chased them out.

It always bothered me that the Vipers didn't eat the Falcons whole immediately after the Refusal War. FASA half-heartedly explained it away as internal politicking, but that was never very satisfying to me.

Wasn't the Refusal War a Grand Council action?  Letting the executor of the Grand Council decision to be absorbed or in other ways strategically exploited would have completely undermined any future authority of the institution of of any future ilKhan.   Clanners for all their bluster were relatively restrained when dealing with each other.  The Refusal War, and more illustrative the later Wars of Reaving demonstrated that as soon as the Clans started to play political hardball with each other things quickly escalated to Succession War levels of destruction.

I did think of a couple more

1) how pirate points aren’t mapped out for every planet by this point in time

2) how navies dont just use uninhabited systems to attack other empires without traveling thru ya know habited enemy territory

3) how ONE family has controlled each of the houses/periphery states for 500-700 years? Even with cadet branches (and some occasional non-family members) how have they stayed with the same family name for all that time?

4) unresolved issues or storylines like Kitsune Kurita and the rest of VSD’s brood. How about that Sandoval Civil War?

4a) I’m not talking about the Wolverines current status (which I’d love to know but I’m aware it’s a mystery that may never be solved). I’m talking about easy to fix plot holes wether or not they have any importance to the story

They do sometimes, but it's risky. You risk burning out a drive core and being stranded.
That's basically what Alaric Ward did to get past the Wall.

I’d go more into depth (but I’m at work) but it has to do with timescale, Galaxy wide mapping not being a thing, communication for fleets (why not enough mobile HPG’s!?) etc that just makes this silly to me.

I could understand them not going whole hog after the Falcons.  But the fact that they did nothing.  And continued to do nothing.  And then just weakly ran away.  It was pretty clear that FASA didn't have any idea of what to actually do with them after they were introduced.

Compared to how power vacuums filled in the Tamar Rising sourcebook--it is pretty weird that the Vipers did nothing when the Falcons were ground down in the Refusal War.

Look, people always point to the Tetatae being decanonized as proof that aliens aren't real and aren't controlling society, but let's not forget that ISP2 provides rules for and (admittedly circumstantial) evidence of a race of intelligent hyperspace-dwelling Cthulus that sometimes brainwash people mid-jump.

Just saying, the Tetatae aren't the real threat here. Wake up sheeple.

Jihad Conspiracies: Interstellar Players 2 features a story by a rambling old JumpShip crewman alleging that such creatures exist, with the following GM's section leaving it ambiguous as to whether they really exist, or if such reports are just a result of hyperspace being weird and sailors making superstitious exaggerations as they are wont to do when the unexplainable occurs.
ISP2's rules annex does provide rules for hyperspace "possession", which is a rare chance that a jump may end with one of the characters brainwashed. That brainwashing could be anything from minor disorientation virtually indistinguishable from acute TDS, to a temporary inability to discern friend from foe in combat, to an elaborate sort of post-hypnotic trigger that compels the victim to assassinate their superior officer with suicidal determination.

Besides interstellar economies running so smoothly and the insanely tiny army sizes…

That the clans keep winning. Except for Tukayyid and Smoke Jags (which took combine efforts of the entire IS), it feels like the only time a clan loses is when it fights another clan. I’m sure I’m missing something, but the entire slow arc of the sphere since clans arrived is for the IS factions to shrink and clans to expand

A very tall and narrow pyramid shape would work...  ;)

and I can’t really think of anyone as fans or in fiction who calls it the LyrCom.
Oh god, my constant usage of "LyrCom" as shorthand may have been dooming the Lyran state this whole time. I'm sorry, Steiner fans.

As a can, it's a terrible idea.

But considering people sell vodka that gets put into a glass skull, I could totally see elaborate pyramid glass bottles.

... Oop. I forgot how this style of forum works. I've been gone for a while.

I'm guessing it involves a straw.

Stefan Amaris drank beer with a bendy party straw and you can't convince me otherwise.

The day Richie Cameron walked in doing the same thing was the first sign that Amaris might not be a good influence on the boy.

Nah…he used a shark-shaped straw.

Google it.

"What is the weakest or most unbelievable aspect of the BT Universe?"

#1. That LAMs are Possible and Exist, yet Highly Intelligent Aliens (that would HAVE to provide the technology NEEDED for LAMs to exist to begin with!) don't.   ::)

#2. That Partial Wings provide even HALF of the benefit that they do.
To me, Repros are 100% Wrong, and there's NO  room for me to give ground on this subject. I'm not just an Immovable Object on this, I'm THE Immovable Object. 3D Prints are just 3D Repros.

Something to bear in Mind. Defending the BT IP is Frowned upon here.

Jump ship paths.

Everything is based on a 2D map of a 500 LY radius SPHERE. I know a number of stars that are on different ends of the z-axis, but relatively close on the xy, and the jump paths claim they are within 30 ly of each other.

For me the economics issue is specifically the idea that interstellar commerce doesn't make sense.  The Mammoth has a total cargo capacity of a bit over 40,000 tons, and is the largest dropship that can land on a planet.  Meanwhile, a modern Triple E class container ship has a deadweight capacity of 165,000 tons.  So what are you shipping between planets that is worth that expense?

Or, you know, the fact that every single system of note has a synchronized orbit of the galactic center with no discernable drift.

Some of us like knowing if those robots could easily get to moved to another planet to get punched. Life's not always about the destination, after all.
