Most adopted oprional rules ?
« on: 02 December 2022, 06:41:40 »
For me it is the Easy up rule that gives you a bonus to piloting for using the whole movement phase just to stand . Not sure units with CASE disabling the auto eject is optional or just advanced ? Thought I would put this out to see if anyone posts anything worth adopting?

Stacking PSR modifiers for every 20 damage is generally good. We also use most of the added extra movement options.

Also, Advanced Atmospheric Control Rolls are a must when running non-interceptors/conventionals.

Floating Criticals
Elevation Changes while Moving Backward
Enhanced Flamers (Give Damage and Heat)
Rapid-Fire Machine Guns
Sprinting
One Arm Prop while firing Prone.
Evading Movement
Guarding Movement
Careful Stand

To be fair, we haven't used Evading or Guarding Movement much.  Honestly, I'm not one to sacrifice fire for pure defense.  Killing a target so it can't hurt you is the best defense.

In addition to that, we have a narrative campaign going at other times that adds Quirks to the list.

I can see evading being really annoying for something like a spider moving up to grab an objective or close the gap to push someone off the table/cliff.  And all the time in light mechs disengaging after a strike run like a Dasher H, who gets bonus evasion with the rule when heat would normally drop his evasion TMM.

Sprinting Movement has been adopted by every group I’ve seen since its introduction.

This.  ^^
I use combos of Sprinting into Cover or Evading in the open while I'm getting into shooting range for my stabby things.

People in my normal gaming group have forgotten that Floating Crit is an optional rule.

Careful Stand
Evading

This plus one arm flip, torso twist and flip arms, and hurried movement

This is about line for line what we use. Though we don’t use quirks
