The second issue of the official magazine "Shrapnel" is available today!!

https://books2read.com/BattleTechShrapnelIssue2

If it's not showing PoD available, check back, it's been submitted.

THE WAR RAGES ON!

Shrapnel: The Official BattleTech Magazine returns with more explosive BattleMech action from the 31st century! Experience tales of hard-won survival from the gaming world of Solaris VII, the wilds of the Deep Periphery, and the annals of Clan history. Dive deep into in-depth technology articles, technical readouts, conspiracy theories, war-game and role-playing adventures, and more—all from veteran BattleTech authors, fan favorites, and our latest enlistees:

Michael A. Stackpole • Jason Schmetzer
Michael J. Ciaravella • Travis Heermann
Alan Brundage • James Simakas
John-David Karnitz • Aaron Cahall
Matthew Cross • Daniel Isberner
Alex Kaempen • Tom Stanley • Chris Wheeler

So I wonder for those that did the subscription on the CGL store: is it just going to email them the magazine or do they need to hunt it down in the account page?

Confession: I've never seen "The Karate Kid." Haven't avoided it or anything, just...never got around to seeing it. "Teen Wolf," either.

TRO: Irregulars is through edit and primary layout (i.e., the text has been flowed in). It needs a good, solid dev pass (same dev as RecGuide, so Jymset is juggling a couple things) and then it should be ready to move through the POD process.

Both movies have classic '80s-style songs over the contest/game montage near the end.

Got to love a nice 80's training montage.

Glad to see our future is in good hands.

Shrapnel #2 has been added to the subscription. Got an update this evening. It seems that when you buy from the store you only get ePub/mobi while the KS backers also get pdf (I got #1 via KS). Given how nice the layout of the pdf is, that’s a shame. Was pdf meant to be a backer perk? Don’t remember reading that.

looks like at least another month or more. dev work, editing, art? more editing... then it has to go through the PoD formatting and approval process which takes some time

Shouldn't need more editing. Doesn't need more art, that's done-zo. The dev pass isn't a big deal--Jymset is fast, and any tweaks will be done in InDesign. The PoD process, we'll see, but I'm really hoping it'll be faster than what we saw with Golden Century. Really hoping it's ready to release by mid-to-late October.

I know people want it, and the book looks dope. Makes me want to weld some chainsaw arms and autocannons onto my Camry.

It was an oversight, should have been the 3057 style.

Is that an official LD-level ruling?

Why would the Clans have upgraded this particular ship after the Exodus?  ???

Being one of the bleeding-edge command ships of the Star League Navy, it was probably built as a 3057 from the start.

Being one of the bleeding-edge command ships of the Star League Navy, it was probably built as a 3057 from the start.

Then again, the Manassas was used as a test bed for super-jump technology at the tail end of the Star League Civil War, and it was an original-silhouette model Aegis.
"We have made of New Avalon a towering funeral pyre and wiped the Davion scourge from the universe.  Tikonov, Chesterton and Andurien are ours once more, and the cheers of the Capellan people nearly drown out the gnashing of our foes' teeth as they throw down their weapons in despair.  Now I am made First Lord of the Star League, and all shall bow down to me and pay homa...oooooo! Shiny thing!" - Maximillian Liao, "My Triumph", audio dictation, 3030.  Unpublished.

That might have been a case of using an older (and thus disposable-ish) hull to try out the new and dangerous prototype tech. The crew was certainly seen as disposable...

This is what I figured, just commenting on the looks since as stated I prefer the 3057 look on that design.

 . . . guess I will be refreshing Amazon a bit today.
