mostly just flavor. stats wise their main advantage over other rifle infantry is that 5 hex/10" move. it's way better than foot infantry, obviously, and actually beats the 3 hex/6" movement of a Motor Rifle Platoon. it also has one better armor than either in AS. and it has roughly the same BV and the same PV as the motor infantry, makign them better as fast moving infantry spotters/objective holders. the downside is they take up nearly 2.5x as much carriage space as a motor platoon.
