Lothian J. Edgar Variants [SW Era]

This idea came out of Vehrec's interesting play by post.  Post #144 is where I initially sketch out the idea.  My thinking is that the Lothians obtained most of their tanks from the Alphard Trading Company (ATC) on Alphard prior to the founding of the Marian Hegemony (and the collapse of that branch of the company shortly before O'Reilly popped up looked MIGHTY suspicious to them).  Fortunately, the Perdition branch of the company merged with Pinard Protectorates Limited, and continued to make J. Edgars.

As far as the initial design itself, it always struck me as worse than usual insanity to install Vehicle Flamers on a fusion powered vehicle with unused heat sinks.  Using regular Flamers instead left a ton (and Fractional Accounting scraped up a bit more; SAW doesn't quite do Fractional Accounting right yet, so I had to tweak things a bit: the cost is right, no idea on the BV) for an Infantry Compartment:

The second variant is fairly obvious:  drop the Flamers and add more infantry for a full up APC.  The saved weight from the turret also allows installation of a set of Paramedic gear.

From there, the Lothians requested a Recon variant that didn't rely on importing SRM ammunition.  Remote Sensors were easier to manufacture locally.  Assuming a Rumble Seat quirk (0 points), the cramped Infantry Compartment can accommodate a pair of scouts.

Good question!  I figure the vehicle has to ground for the initial lift, then the lift hoist dynamically centers the load over the fans.  Lift hoists aren't restricted from use by hovers, so it's really just a mystery... :)
