Nice. Reasonable, and always nice to see a SW-era Light that isn't either too tied to a specific faction (COM, VLK, PNT/JR7 etc.) or too single-minded/focused (UM, FS9). And the ReCam is always a nice addition. That has been officially retconned into 3SW availability, right?

It's Pre-Spaceflight, but you need to use Experimental rules.

Oh, I don't care about rules-levels, so to speak, only if something is allowed. For example, I'm totally down with downgraded SL (e.g. TRO3025R) types and Blazers. And Rocket Launchers, no matter what anybody says. I guess my litmus-test is: if nobody would have a reasonable argument about something's inclusion in a (say) 3014-era game, then it's available for me to use.

The biggest benefit it gives is being able to spot and still shoot weapons, so I don't think it presents a game balance problem in 3025.

I do not worship at the altar of game balance, believing instead that certain things will gain prevalence based on their utility and other things will fall by the wayside. And some of those latter things will still see use because of a variety of factors.

You know, just like in the real world.

Certainly!  It's just that game balance is the most common argument I've encountered when advocating for these kinds of things.

With DHS in the mix, why not a Medium and a Small instead of 3 Smalls? ???

What the actual crap?  Those are supposed to be Single heat sinks, given my tech level was set at Introductory tech, and MegaMekLab let me put one single-crit standard heat sink and a jump jet in each leg.

I didn't bother saving the design, so I can't bring up the file anymore to take a look.  I'm guessing it got stupid when I downgraded the tech and changed year on the existing Spector with doubles, with weird flags flipped in different spots in memory.

I was also willing to compromise on speed, the same way the EXT-4A version of the Exterminator did, and drop to 6/9/6, in order to preserve the large laser and heavy armor, whereas yours is still 7/11/7, preserving speed at the cost of firepower.

Both are valid interpretations: they're just preserving different aspects of the original's design when downgrading technology base.

My dude.  The EXT-4A, the Succession Wars downgrade which inspired your 'Mech in the first place, drops the speed to 5/8/5, instead of the 6/9/6 of the original 4D (the NullSig/Chameleon -4C is also 6/9/6), because a 390-rating standard engine is 46 tons - a 6/9/6 Introtech Exterminator is 0.5 tons overweight before fitting armor, let alone weaponry.

I love this downgrading to Succession Wars era. One makes a good scout, the other a good scout hunter.
