 So I don't normally work in metal. It is how I started in miniatures back in the 1990s (with Ral Partha 'mechs, so it's pretty cool to have my stuff featured in their catalog today) but over the years everyone has shifted to plastics/resin and I just kind of accepted it as the status quo. That being said, there are some definite advantages to metals. Metals have very good fidelity/sharp detail, mold-seams are much less of a problem, and the current IWM 'mechs seem to always give you some options in terms of posing. Plus there's the weapon swaps/alternate parts that are available for a lot of their sculpts. The biggest downside is trying to prevent paint rubbing/chipping. Especially during painting, you gotta be extra careful not to rub paint off the corners of these models. I kinda think that for display purposes, the added weight and cleaner details on IWM is a definite advantage however. A stiff breeze definitely ain't gonna blow one of these off your shelf lol.

Lots to love here.  I particularly like the laser and ppc lensing.  Also, that is a particularly pleasing shade of ‘Davion’ green!  Do you mind sharing how you made that green happen?

 So along with my Clan Wolf Beta Galaxy stuff this Davion scheme is probably the most "grounded" looking style I do. I'm really just using a variation of a common Games Workshop combo: I've got Castellan Green as a base with Straken Green as the main highlight. I further shade the base color with Athonian Camo Shade, and then work up a 50/50 of Castellan Green and Straken Green, then Straken Green, the Straken Green 50/50 with Nurgling Green, then Nurgling Green itself, and a final dot highlight of Nurgling Green and Vallejo White. (I ain't using chalky GW white)

 You could probably omit the 50/50 mixes and it would look mostly similar.

Question; I concur with your thoughts in IWM metal being crisper etc. Do you happen to also have a metal Marauder on hand? Can you comment on it's quality? I've been waiting to eye one before ordering a battalion or two...

I don't have one. I'll probably be tempted to get one eventually, especially since there's parts options for it.
