I had a similar problem back in 2013, had 240-odd minis - so I started painting companies, then adding, to build battalions. Have now painted 102 battalions/trinaries/etc. It helps pass the time (and modding and painting helps keep me sane, and counteracts incipient RSA in my hands.)

Great work, lovely to see the old BD Marauder - just add some C-bill symbols :)

570 models to paint?  *faint*

I don't even HAVE 250 models, even if you include the off-brand stuff.  Right now I only have 177 Mechs, 16 Vehicles, 12 BA, 10 Protomechs, and 4 ASF.  That doesn't include what's coming with the Mercs KS.  Still, I only have about 14 of those left to paint, though, since I've been keeping up with them, more or less.

Still, what you've completed are well done.

I was painting them by company fifteen years or so ago. And that does go much faster. I should get back into that.

Boilerman, I envy you. I really like the new sculpts and very much want to start buying them. But...I have this chore, lol.

Indeed! Do you have a plan? Eg. my grand plan is "One per era per great House, Periphery, Terran, Jade Falcon, Smoke Jaguar and Other Clan per applicable era." Or just as the spirit moves you?

And when the backlog's done, you can go back & buy vehicles & infantry for them! :D

I went by Lance or Star, depending on how I get them.  It gets a little rough around tax time when I get a little purchase heavy.  It took me about 2-3 months to get through that, especially as I don't paint during holiday times.

Latest set is the Gray Death pack, 4 Vehicles, and 6 individual Battle Armor on Fender Washers (should be the fastest).

When the Merc Kickstarter gets in, it will be even harder, as there are units I don't care for in each one, but others I definitely will want/need to get on the field for a Clan campaign I'll be starting up.  It will mostly be Clan Worlds till June or July, so "plenty of time"?

I am going to paint a lance each of every CCAF unit. I am starting with the Death Commandos.

I have told myself something similar, that I need to paint two for any one I bring in... Doesn't always go to plan.  So good job on sticking to your goal!

That is an incredible collection thank you for sharing and please post updates as the units roll off the assembly line!

Excellent work and progress. With the new Kickstarters I'll have probably 300+ with maybe 50 or so painted. Some still need some work, I need to make a big decal order from FPG and the stores that carry them.
I do like painting by company, though it can be a bit tedious, but it tends to create nice uniformity and give me alot of practice with those colors and techniques used.

I like that you have pretty good detail, some highlights, shadows etc. It's not crazy artist good. I love seeing what the real pros can do, but I can't do that and don't have the time or inclination to develop my skills to that level. This is what a nice "normal" human can do. They look good. If they ever make it to a game table they are sometihng to be proud of. Nice work.

Seeing that Plastech Marauder is a reminder to me why I think the Merlin stats could fit that frame pretty handily.
