Blakists! IN SPAAAACE!!!
« on: 13 April 2025, 14:24:50 »
Finished a trio of DropShip fleets for the Word of Blake, for use in Aerospace or Battleforce games!

First up is Escort Fleet. A dedicated space combat formation to operate alone or alongside WarShips, Escort Fleet is equipped with a powerful mix of assault ships and Pocket WarShips with full fighter coverage for clearing a path through orbital defenses for troop transports, denying the same to enemy troops, or simply pointing at the area of space around an objective and saying "The Sainted Blake says this is MINE."

Speaking of troops, up next is Transport Fleet. These ships have enough space on board to deliver a full Iota Division of Word of Blake Militia to a world. And while not nearly as powerful as Escort Fleet, this group is more than capable of accomplishing this task in the face of hostile spacecraft.

Finally, we have the Murderbots.  Guided by the manned WarShip WoBS Celestial Threads, these CASPAR II drones stand ready to defend the Word's holdings with a lethal tenacity exceeding even that of the religious fanatics that built them.

That is some nice clean work, which layering did you use to get the white so clearly detailed but yet so clean?

In your Transport Fleet is the Homestead an Interdictor Pocket Warship ??

Thanks !!

I sprayed them with Krylon matte white, washed them with Apothecary White Contrast, then drybrushed back up with Morrow White. That's literally it. :)

While the drones likely don't have formal names, humans will pack-bond with anything, so it stands to reason that the maintenance and control crews would get attached to the deadly little things and give them nicknames. I named all my CASPAR II drones after various examples of artificial life from myth and legend, AND of course knowledge would pass down the generations of the greatest Roomba of them all!

What class is the middle ship?

It's only with the picture that I realized I had always mistakenly thought that the Avalon's pointy ends were the bow of the ship...

Some folks prefer it that way, too.

I prefer it the official way, looking like a pair of zeppelins strapped to the sides of a castle. :)

I've not gotten into the warship/dropship/jumpship aspect of the game but those look awesome!
