(Answered) Multiple Engines on Support Vehicles?
« on: 19 November 2012, 23:01:06 »
Tech Manual, pg 126

Is it legal to install multiple engines on the same vehicle? One drive train/movement mode, but two engines driving it (always one or the other, of course). In particular, I was thinking of two scenarios:

1) a solar vehicle with a fuel cell or electric battery backup (same MP, two engines)

2) a vehicle with two different movement factors, such as an ICE vehicle with environmental sealing that switches to low-performing battery power when in vacuum.

I don't see anything in either page 126 or the Weapons and Heavy Equipment entries that would forbid this for support vehicles, but it also doesn't raise the possibility, either.

It is absolutely not legal to install multiple engines on a support vehicle.  Page 126 of TechManual: "Each Support Vehicle carries one engine to power its movement, equipment and other integral components."
