Coming Soon to MekHQ



When generating new personnel, mhq will roll a handful of dice to determine the personnel's loyalty. This is personal loyalty, so not affected by any exterior factor like Faction (that sort of thing is already handled by the Turnover system's existing calcs).

Loyalty ranges from -3 to +3 and is a direct modifier to Turnover TN.

There is an option in Campaign Options to hide Loyalty. In which case it's impossible to tell how loyal a person is, other than watching their Turnover TN closely. If loyalty is not hidden, loyalty is visible when hiring personel; and on the person view pane

This is only visible if Loyalty is enabled and Loyalty is not hidden and Loyalty doesn't equal 0.

One little request, though: Would it be possible to include Reeducation Camp modules for non-Clan factions to, to simulate factions like pirates or Blakists "persuading" captured personnel?

I love this idea. I'll see it done.

Initially it will be abstract but Illiani is looking into the concept of having them as a mission or track in Stratcon/AtB

So, the current plan is for mutinies during transit to be abstracted. As, frankly, I’m not about to program BattleTroops and I imagine I’m among the few people who even remember BattleTroops! :D

Planet-side, mutinies will be fought out in MegaMek. We have the technology to do this, I just need to figure out how! :D

Something that I don’t think Hammer shared is that when a mutiny occurs you’ll actually get the chance to pick whether you support the rebels or loyalists. Potentially creating some cool stories and changing up a campaign.

LeadershipMethod.FAMILY.toolTipText=Family treats everyone equally, but the unit lacks discipline. Applies a -1 modifier to Desertion rolls, but a +1 modifier to Mutiny rolls.

LeadershipMethod.ELITE.text=Elite
LeadershipMethod.ELITE.toolTipText=An elite, disciplined and professional fighting force. Applies a +1 modifier to both Desertion and Mutiny rolls.

LeadershipMethod.GREEN.text=Green
LeadershipMethod.GREEN.toolTipText=An inexperienced commander does not inspire confidence or respect. Applies a -1 modifier to Desertion rolls.

LeadershipMethod.IRON_FIST.text=Iron Fist
LeadershipMethod.IRON_FIST.toolTipText=Where there's a whip, there's a way. Applies a +1 modifier to Desertion and Mutiny rolls, but both desertions and mutinies are more impactful.

Perhaps "Mercenary" should be replaced with "Typical", or something more generic to encompass House troops?
